Thanks to @MayaRupert for leading the live tweet. Let’s go! #WakandaForever is our hashtag.
The story I read is that Sterling's character N'Jobu was planning to break out of prison his wife, Erik's mother, who was being held as a political prisoner. #WakandaForever
Notice the details this time. The Public Enemy posters on the wall, for example. We will see Huey Newton image in the rattan chair later. Those are thanks to Hannah Beachler, @chinchilla1970, the production designer, who won an Oscar for her work in this film. #WakandaForever
Notice also the costume designs by @IAmRuthECarter, who won an Oscar for her work in this film. Okoye's accoutrements are gold, to show her rank because she is the General. The rest of the Dora Milaje wear silver. #WakandaForever
Listen to the music. The original score is by @ludwiggoransson, who won an Oscar for his work in this film. Ludwig has also worked w/ Director Ryan Coogler in Creed and Fruitvale Station. #WakandaForever
Just because something works does not mean it cannot be improved." Shuri with the gems.

"All this security on me since I walked in but you ain't checking for what you put in your body."

Screenplay by Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole.

#WakandaForever
Look at these folks celebrating Chadwick. I hope he felt joy watching everyone sing his character's name. I hope he felt affirmed and loved.

We will never forgive Forest for this accent tho. LOL #WakandaForever
The different tribes at Warrior Falls wear different colors, different adornments, to represent their tribe: Border, Merchant, River, Mining & Jabari.

Note the Shuri raises her hand to challenge. It's a joke now, but we know she becomes the Black Panther. #WakandaForever
Winston Duke with what was, to me, his breakout role.

When I met him, I thanked him for his thighs (true story). #WakandaForever
Watching this first action sequence and thinking about how Chad was fighting cancer. Much of that could not be done with stunt doubles. My God. How he loved us. #WakandaForever
What this scene must have meant to Chad. Drinking the heart shaped herb to heal his body, being buried, and traveling to the ancestral plane for wisdom.

HOW did he do this scene emotionally, knowing what he did about his health? The tears. #WakandaForever
That walk. #WakandaForever
"Why do you have your toes out in my lab??" 🤣

"The old American movie Baba used to watch" is a reference to Back to the Future with Michael J. Fox.

#WakandaForever
Okoye, T'Challa and Nakia are wearing red, black, & green. Intentional by costume designer @iamruthecarter.

Okoye mentions that her wig/hair is a disgrace, in part because her status as General is displayed by the tattoo on her head. Her bald head was the power. #WakandaForever
Note how Nakia fights with her bare feet, using her shoe as a weapon. How none of them have guns. It's the juxtaposition of tradition vs technology that we will see throughout the film. Recall that Nakia also feels comfortable driving barefoot. #WakandaForever
Okoye. That's the tweet. #WakandaForever
Let him call my people "savages" ONE more time. #WakandaForever
Does she speak English?

When she wants to.

WHEW. #WakandaForever
Note that Killmonger's mask is roughly the same shape as the crafts that they fly on Wakanda. #WakandaForever
"Great. Another broken white boy for us to fix. This is going to be fun."

Obviously Shuri is referencing Bucky as the other "broken white boy" who we will see at the very end of the film, post credits. #WakandaForever
T'Challa: And the child?

Zuri: We left him. We had to maintain the lie.

What a difference it would have made had they brought Erik home to Wakanda. #WakandaForever
"Don't scare me like that, colonizer!" is THEEEE comedic line of the film for me.

Note how Shuri's eyes light up when she finds how Ross is interested in her tech. She's a teen and happy to show off her intelligence & skill. #WakandaForever
"Hey Auntie" wasn't in the original script, as I recall. #WakandaForever
Notice that this is happening at sunset, unlike T'Challa's battle with M'Baku. The sun is setting on T'Challa's time as king.

Again, look at the physicality of this role. This may have been done with green screens, but that's Chadwick's body. Fighting cancer. #WakandaForever
"I'm not a spy who can come and go as they choose."

That was Okoye throwing shade at Nakia. #WakandaForever
"No tears for me?"

"Everybody dies. It's just life around here."

"Well look at what I've done."

This was SO much. #WakandaForever
Michael B Jordan filmed Creed and Black Panther nearly back to back. He talked about how he wanted a different body type, though they were both warriors. #WakandaForever
The colonizer does not get to speak in Jabariland. As it should be. #WakandaForever
"The time has come for you to come home."

"I must right these wrongs."

#WakandaForever

WHEW. Rest in Power, Chad.
This fight scene. Most filmmakers find it very hard to find Black stunt doubles. Part of it is they are often Union jobs and if you cannot get your first job, you can't get in the Union. So often... white people are used as stunt doubles. In blackface. So... #WakandaForever
Director Ryan Coogler said we weren't going to have white folks in blackface as stunt doubles in Black Panther. Instead of professional stunt doubles, many of the Dora Milaje are dancers, gymnasts, athletes, who were trained to fight & wield spears. #WakandaForever
Nakia did not want to wear the Dora Milaje uniform. It's part of why she became a spy. She never wanted to be part of the Order. That's why she hesitated. But her body would've been unprotected otherwise. #WakandaForever
This fight scene between Killmonger and T'Challa within the mountain. Some say It is an allegory to the Underground Railroad. #WakandaForever
Shuri the teenager, in the middle of battle, still having to give Ross the colonizer specific directions is.... a lot. "I made it American for you." He was helpful tho. #WakandaForever
"Kid from Oakland running around believing in fairy tales."

This line referenced Killmonger, but it also referenced screenwriter Joe Robert Cole and screenwriter/director Ryan Coogler. #WakandaForever
Young brotha here you'll recognize as Alex Hibbert, Little from @moonlightmov, and Kevin from @SHOTheChi.

Note the line: "Who are you?"

We heard that throughout the film. It was a question that T'Challa and Killmonger had to answer. And a perfect way to end. #WakandaForever
Of course, you don't leave a Marvel film until the lights come up. There is ALWAYS a bonus scene. In Black Panther, there are two.

@IkireJones designed the scarf T'Challa wears in this scene.

And look how they underestimate Wakanda as "farmers."

#WakandaForever
The final scene. We see Bucky healthy, brought back by Shuri. "Much more for you to learn."

Thank you @MayaRupert for organizing our live tweet! It was so needed. #WakandaForever RIP Chadwick Boseman
The movie ended tonight almost exactly 24 hours after we got the news. Off by less than 10 minutes. I just... #WakandaForever
