After receiving a significant amount of questions about XUMM being in beta & the amount of XRP that's safe to store, this is me answering that question publicly 😊

ℹ️ Your XRP is "stored" on the XRP ledger, not "in" XUMM. XUMM is non custodial. Keys lost? No recovery ⚠️
We are confident that security, encryption, storing, sending & receiving **XRP** in XUMM has been thoroughly tested.

We're improving the user interface here and there, adding features & translations & sending, receiving & trading IOU's (non-XRP currencies) are work in progress.
This means we trust XUMM can handle larger XRP balances today, at version 0.5.1 (the version you can get from or upgrade to using the Apple App/ Google Play store). However, and I can't stress this enough: KEEP YOUR KEYS SAFE. WRITE THEM DOWN & STORE THEM @ MULTIPLE SECURE PLACES
Please ONLY use XUMM with "Read/Write" accounts (so: accounts with private key present, so you can sign transactions) if you are 100% confident you can manage the responsibility of keeping your keys safe & keeping your smartphone secure (password, screen lock, OS updates).
After these clarifications & warnings: I hope to welcome you as a XUMM user (if you aren't already). If you have questions, please direct them at @XummSupport, or (if you prefer a private conversation) the support chat at support.xumm.app (button on the lower right corner)
Last but not least: XUMM will ONLY GENERATE OR IMPORT your secret ONCE. If *ANY app user or tool or support 👨/👩* (after you initially generating/importing your secret into XUMM) asks you for your secret key / mnemonic / family seed, DO NOT ENTER IT. XUMM user? Use XUMM to sign.
XUMM is *NOT* a replacement for cold storage. XUMM is perfect for your daily spending account. XUMM *CAN* be used for managing accounts with larger balances, but please educate yourself & handle your (written down) secret & device responsibly. Read: support.xumm.app/en/articles/38…

Last tests & fixes for a massive XUMM update. The next 1~2 days: last internal testing & fixes. Next week: community dev. testing. Estimated public release: end of next week.
Over 60 changes, additions, improvements & fixes, mostly developed by Ali @baltazar223 & @ThisIsTRISS 🤗
Don't let the version number (0.5.1, just a .1 on the end) fool you: it doesn't honour the amount of work & improvements at all, but we decided to stick with it.

After this update we take a bit of time for @baltazar223 to work on automated internal testing procedures, etc.
After this, there will probably be one more beta release (0.6.0) with a little less changes & updates, after which we'll remove the Beta label and launch V1. As we're adding some things I'm really excited about (think: XUMM Pro, opt in KYC, hosted PayID & more) expect mid Q4.

Because XUMM accounts are on ledger, non custodial (user owns keys) accounts, activated with at least 20 XRP (reserve)
Expect a flow in the XUMM user interface similar to the existing flow for your own on ledger XRPL account. Send, receive. Fiat onramp using the "Request" button (request from bank account), offramp added to the Send flow.

So: switch accounts, custodial & non custodial, mixed.

I believe there are some misunderstandings about Destination Tags on the XRP ledger.
A destination tag can be compared to an extension number, when calling a company. You can call the company, but you'll need to be put through to the right person. With the extension number, you can call someone directly.
It's the same with the XRP ledger and destination tags when sending funds. You reach the XRP ledger account, but the recipient doesn't know where to route (credit) the funds. Just like when you are calling a company: you call one number, but who do you want to speak with?
