Please don't glorify guys like Rittenhouse. He isn't a hero. He's even alive out of dumb luck. Glorifying encourages others to engange with BLM too, and it never ends well. We definitely don't need white patriots in jail or grave. And don't give me any BS about pride or honor.
->
By that I mean the comments such as ones I've received before, saying things like: "Well his pride didn't allow him to just stand by and watch. This is this honorable thing to do." Activism is about putting our cause before your own wants and needs, such as personal pride.
->
If you're going glory-hunting like this, it's just about you and your ego. It's not furthering the nationalist cause in any way. You'll get your 15 minutes of fame - dead or alive - and in 2 weeks everyone will have forgotten all about your stupid ass.
->
Look at all the people who were the heroes of the right wing internet for their 15 minutes - some for a good reason, some not. Who talks about "Karen and Kevin" anymore? Do you remember the names of the guys who took down Ahmaud Arbery?
->
The best case scenario in engaging with BLM is to get your ass kicked. Then there are the options of getting killed or having to defend yourself and have the book thrown at you. Remember James Fields? So you'll be bruised, dead or jailed for trying to protect a Starbucks.
->
I understand that it's frustrating to watch all this happen, but don't engage. You can only lose there, so pick your battles. Protect your home and loved ones if need be, but don't throw your life away for a statue or a 7-11. You're needed in our activism, not in jail or grave.
