Charles Schwab's PR folks replied "our chairman’s personal political activities are his own, and are separate from The Charles Schwab Corporation and its subsidiaries." That's not how most consumers see it, particularly not when the company is named after its chairman.
Just heard from a Lending Tree spox that founder & CEO Doug Lebda, who donated to a pro-Trump super PAC in last election cycle, has not donated to any pro-Trump groups this time around & has no plans to do so. FEC records back this. Removing LT from #GrabYourWallet boycott list.
Note, Lebda co-chaired the RNC host committee this year, so it's not like he's trying to distance himself from GOP in general, but he did emphasize his participation was about providing an economic boost for city of Charlotte. charlotteobserver.com/news/politics-…
