Regardless of how great we think our vision is, our human eye is far from perfect actually.

We only have 3 cones (very rare condition giving people 4 - tetrachromatic) which let us see red-green-blue

That's it, all the other colors you see are just a combination of these 3
Tetrachromatic people can see another colour which we can only imagine. Their paintings can be sold for thousands of dollars!
All 3 colours combined together we humans will see "white light"

Our ink jet printers do it in reversed. They print in Cyan-Magenta-Yellow & Black (CMYK)
Light is an electromagnetic wave, with wavelength ranging from attometers to billions of kilometers.

Our human eye only detect ~380 to 700nm, a tiny fraction of the spectrum

Beyond violet is ultraviolet (UV), less than red is infrared (IR)
Alot of other animals have way better vision than us. The mantis shrimps have 12 to 16 different cones, seeing a a much wider variety of colours within our visible light wavelength..
Birds and insects that rely on finding flowers may have less receptors, but they see way beyond our UV range..
Reptiles that need to hunt in the dark has eyes + pits that detect Infrared.
Our human eyes aren't that special and perfect actually, mediocre at best compared to the animal kingdom. But we all detect EM waves.. a type of Radiation

Radiation is energy emission and transmission in the form of waves.
The higher the energy emitted, the shorter the radiation wavelength.

Any wavelength shorter than 125nm are "Ionizing". Because they carry enough energy to detach electrons from atoms/molecules.

Which causes tissue damage and/or cancer (long term exposure)
To transmit information in the form of energy, we need to modulate waves in a fixed wavelength & frequency to the other party receiving can interpret it.

Radios over large distances use low frequencies but greater Wavelength .. but carry less information density (low res audio)
If we need to transmit more data, we use higher frequency but shorter wavelength.. like microwave (astro, tv) but they dont go very far

As our consumption of telecommunication devices requires higher data transfer rate, we need to resort to shorter wavelengths
Our home WiFi operates in centimeters wavelengths at 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz, delivering up to 11 - 900Mbps

But this is fast getting outdated..
Hence we are now transitioning to 5G which operates in milimeter wavelengths & super high frequencies (24 - 100Ghz). This means the distance will be very short & easily obstructed.

However this is no where near Ionizing range. Visible light is nearer to Ionizing than 5G
