1/ Hyperinflammation in MIS-C differs from that of acute, severe COVID-19. Important info for therapeutic decisions.
2/ MIS-C differs from Kawasaki disease. Kawasaki involves strong IL-17A responses and high biomarkers of arterial damage etc.
3/ MIS-C produce comparable levels of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG as kids with mild COVID-19 w/o MIS-C. Preexisting immunity to common Coronaviruses lower in older MIS-C kids as compared to other groups. Relevance to disease unknown as yet.
4/ A number of candidate autoantibodies found elevated in MIS-C patients. Notable examples involve Casein-Kinase family members given recent report by @DoctorBou et al @KroganLab on upregulation of CSKII in SARS-CoV-2 infected cells: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32645325/
