If you have ever wondered what our take is on Land Reform in #Zimbabwe, here's a thread. #AWW⏳
APA Zimbabwe totally supports Land Reform! Our people went to war for independence and for the return of OUR land. #AWW⏳ #Zimbabwe
After losing the referendum in 2000, @ZANUPF_Official, however, embarked on a vengeance driven violent and chaotic land reform programme
Thousands of farm workers were internally displaced and production was severely disrupted with food security compromised. #AWW#Zimbabwe
Typical of ZanuPF, they belatedly went to parliament after the damage had been made and the country has paid a heavy price ever since.
Not only, was land parceled out to cronies, by government's own admission on several occasions, said cronies repeatedly ran down multiple farms.
What is the price of chaos and patronage? 🤔
APA believes that black farmers👩🏾🌾 are fully capable of working the land profitably and sustainably to restore national food security and supply the region. #AWW#ZimLandDebate#Zimbabwe
APA also believes that the Zimbabwe government should honour bilateral agreements, at all times, and not only when they have to perform an embarrassing climbdown after sowing so much hardship in the country. We have lost so much potential as a result of this fist waving mentality
APA is a constitution driven party and calls on Zimbabweans to demand accountability of our government and politicians at all times, lest we spend the rest of our lives cleaning up our own self inflicted messes on a regular and ongoing basis. #Zimbabwe #AWW ⏳
The solution is simple: a complete break from the past of corruption and patronage in government, municipalities and an end to factional power struggles in political parties that have all contributed to holding us back as a nation. 🇿🇼

#ALifeOfSacrifice Since Independence, Zimbabwean parents have worked hard to invest in the education of their children. Some opened accounts with the likes of Beverly Building Society for years only to see value wiped away in a matter of days by Zanu's collapse of the economy
#ALifeOfSacrifice Those who managed to make it & graduate, could not find any jobs because ZanuPF's ruinous policies destroyed the economy. Families were forced to sacrifice quality family time & send their children off overseas. But first they had to sacrifice to find airfares
#ALifeOfSacrifice Those who made it to the diaspora are still sacrificing to bring family over or send money home to help those left behind at the mercy of a predatory elite that is looting the country dry at Olympic proportions. Cynically, diaspora is not allowed to vote
ZanuPF & the government's obsession with NGOs & their insistence on demanding work plans is yet an example of the systematic siege mentality within their ranks. Anyone who demands accountability is an enemy of the state, serves communities is treated with suspicion. Fear abounds.
Government that rules with an iron fist because it is afraid of it's own shadows. It is a sick situation with regime defenders openly & shamelessly back repression because they make a living off the backs of the people's misery #FixTheFoundation
The same regime that lives off foreign aid is petty & capricious enough to hijack aid handover ceremonies for help sourced by NGOs and individual Zimbabweans. Not content to deprive Zimbabweans of a living, they go on to create "support" schemes to further enrich themselves
#FixTheFoundation The world is fascinated by what is happening in the US because it is a superpower & because it regularly positions itself asi "leader of the free world". It is a test moment for American democracy. The democrats are moving to impeach Donald Trump for sedition
This is not about politics as some very conservative Republicans, like Liz Cheney, have indicated they will vote to impeach. The point being made is you cannot upend the constitutional order & hope to get away with it. There are dangers for the country & principles must stand
In Zimbabwe, when the ruling party was embroiled in a vicious factional fight, 9 out of 10 provinces voted against their then VP. After the coup, the same 9 provinces switched allegiances. Zero principle, adherence to the constitution. Worse, opposition leaders defended the coup
1. The Alliance for People’s Agenda is deeply concerned by the manner in which Hopewell Chin’ono and Jacob Ngarivhume are being unjustly treated by the government. We note particularly how justice is being denied and delayed in their court cases. @SADC_News #Zimbabwe
2. The two are entitled to the same constitutional rights afforded to the accused person in terms of Section 70 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. We refer to the decision by the Magistrate Court disqualifying Hopewell Chin’ono’s lawyer. #Zimbabwe
APA is taken aback, but not surprised, at the reaction of the Government of Zimbabwe to the pastoral letter issued by the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops’ Conference on the current situation in Zimbabwe.
3/For the sake of clarity, and with reference to this particular context, APA would like to point out the following undeniable facts regarding the history of the Catholic Church in the Rhodesia era and independent Zimbabwe.
