Ram Setu & sand is abundant in Thorium. India can extract thorium to boost its Nuclear Power self sufficiency program of unlimited energy w/0 dredging the Setu. But if Ram Setu is declared National Heritage monument then Govt of India cant mine the sand around it hurting country

You dont need to break the Setu to mine the sand on TN Coast for Thorium. Now the Question is of u declare that a national heritage monument then u loose right to mine Thorium nearby costlines. It has got nothing to do with Setu Samudram. Foreign Powers dont want India to mine it

So naturally the given how critical India’s Thorium reserves are to energy plan it begs the question why would someone seek an impediment in that as India has probably last resources of Thorium reserves in the world. Fast Breeder Reactors in Kalpakkam, TN to which many protests.

Fast Breeder Reactor that too ones which process Uranium 233 & Thorium 232 is one of a kind in the world. Only Russia has one similar plant. Blaming the PMO has become a convenient ploy on Cultural Heritage Tag in guise of hurting India’s energy security.

BJP has always been front of Ram Mandir movement from RJB to nudging the Courts to protesting against Congress on affidavit to doing the Shilanayas of Ram Mandir. Only a fool would doubt Sangh’s committment to Bhagwan Shri Ram.

Thorium is NOT a fissile material, i.e., it cannot undergo nuclear fission. But it can be converted, when placed in a ‘Fast Breeder’ reactor, into U(233) which is fissile.

The U -233 deposited in the spent fuel can be extracted in ‘re-processing units’ and used as an input fuel, closing the ‘fuel cycle.’ This is the Dr Homi Bhabha Plan of Unlimited energy.

The US and Germany long ago gave up on commercial Breeders. France and Japan had only one each (the Phoenix and the MONJU respectively). Both had major coolant (liquid Sodium) problems and have been abandoned. China has put its Breeder plans on the backburner.

Only Russia has a couple of Breeders. India’s first commercial Breeder is still under construction at Kalpakkam. Our DAE scientists claim that they have devised, despite their isolation, new techniques to manage the sodium safely.

The Fast Breeder reactors using Thorium & Uranium and reprocess spent fuel into an unlimited pool of energy cycle was objected to by USA during Nuclear Deal which wanted to be it put under IAEA & slow down on that project and UPA complied with it.

The project was in cold storage in UPA era was restrated by Modi Government and the Fast Breeder plant is set to open by end 2021 a decade later than its original date. Large conversion mafia has cropped up there to oppose that plant & mining there too like Uranium in North East.

So thos want Ram Setu to be declared National Hertiage are indirectly wanna hurt India’s pride the Kalpakkam Fast Breeder reactor. Setu samduram is anyway stopped Modi Government has said that to SC & its recorded in the Order that it has no plans to go ahead with project.

Since Setu Samduram is shelved the ploy blaming Modi for National Heritage tag is just non sense !!
