PS2/ Lindsey Graham took a Steele sub-source saying some of his information was gathered in meetings in bars—where people *do* meet, you know, in life, to talk—and *twisted* that into a claim that everything Steele got was "bar talk," which *isn't* what the Senate was told. Ever.
PS3/ Just so, Graham and other Trump golfing buddies got media to report Steele's chief source as having denied saying things to Steele that appeared in the dossier—but did they report the correction Horowitz issued, noting the source simply said he "couldn't recall" some things?
PS4/ Did media report that those questioning Steele's source had him over a barrel, with anything he said that caused a ruckus possibly leading to deportation? Did media report that the source's supposedly checkered past was *nonsense*—and that he's actually *widely* respected?
PS5/ Did media unpack the dossier by noting Steele's impeccable credentials/history, the fact that he told the FBI the dossier was raw intel and therefore likely "70%" correct, and reviewing how much of it was uncannily accurate? No, it ceded the field to Trumpist disinformation.
PS6/ On the back end of all this we get a national discourse in which everything—the *mountain* of evidence of Trump-Russia collusion—is a "wash," even as the USIC continues to sit on redacted intel it won't share with America. So yeah—of *course* Trump still has a chance to win!
PS7/ In the 2,500-page Proof series, there are 250+ major characters. Many are bystanders to the main action, but of those who aren't, 90%+ are villains and <10% heroes. Christopher Steele is one of the heroes—and like other heroes, media allowed him to be raked across the coals.
