📘 Excerpt from Michael Cohen’s book “Disloyal, a memoir”:

Watching Obama's Inauguration in 2008 with Trump, with the massive, adoring, joyful crowd on the Mall, incensed the Boss in a way I'd never seen him before—he was literally losing his mind watching a handsome...
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

...and self-evidently brilliant young black man take over, not only as Commander in Chief, but also as a moral world leader & guiding light. It was just too much for Trump. I thought I'd seen the worst of Trump then, but when Obama won the Nobel Prize,...
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

Trump went ballistic, as if the universe were playing some kind of trick on him to drive him out of his mind. It was almost like he was hearing voices, the way he ranted and raved about the idiotic Obama and how he was beloved by so many Americans.
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

Trump mocked the way Obama talked, walked, even appeared, as if acting presidential was just that: an act. The shtick you see him pull at his rallies, when he mocks the idea of being "presidential" & says how easy it is to pretend to be a serious leader...
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

...walking like a robot and marching around like a fool and a phony, was first performed for yours truly in Trump's office while I sat quietly listening to him go on and on and on about Obama and caricature his mannerisms.
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

We even hired a Faux-Bama, or fake Obama, to record a video where Trump ritualistically belittled the first black president and then fired him, a kind of fantasy fulfillment that it was hard to imagine any adult would spend serious money living out—
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

...until he did the functional equivalent in the real world.

Trump didn't despise Obama. It was much, much stronger than that. I figured that Obama was the only person on the planet whom Trump actually envied—truly, madly, deeply.
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

Air Force One, walking the carpet to deliver the State of the Union, the way Angela Merkel and other world leaders obviously admired and listened to Obama—it drove Trump out of his mind.
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

Then came The Speech: Obama was invited to address the German nation in front of the Brandenburg Gate, in the same place as John F. Kennedy in the early '60s, one of the indelible images of American history in the twentieth century.
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

Trump went from incandescent to sputtering, spittle-flecked fury as he watched Obama talk about freedom and ridding the world of nuclear weapons and turning back the rising seas by fighting global warming.
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

"You've got to admit he's a great orator," I said.
"F*ck him," Trump yelled at me, Obama on the screen before him calmly addressing untold millions of Germans thrilled to have a world leader ushering in the prospect of a twenty-first century...
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

...where diversity and tolerance and peace and responsibility would become global aspirations, and maybe even realities.
"He's obviously very smart," I said, knowing I was egging Trump on, but also honestly impressed by Obama's speech and demeanor.
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

"Obama is a f*cking phony," Trump screamed. "He's a Manchurian candidate. He's not even f*cking American. The only reason he got into f*cking Harvard Law School and Columbia University was f*cking affirmative action.
📘 Cohen book (cont'd)

...He could never get into those schools on his f*cking grades. F*ck him."

🗣️🧵 Two important speeches made by John Heilemann on Morning Joe:

"Joe, I’m struck by the same thing you are, right, because we’re both students of history, in a midterm election where the empowered president has an approval rating in the thirties. 1/
And the main economic variable for a lot of people in their lives which is inflation—even if it’s maybe getting a little more under control right now—it’s still way too high—and people talk about it all the time out here in America. 2/
You know, in a circumstance like that, you should be looking at a landslide for Republicans and I think Republicans thought that’s what we were looking at as recently as this spring and then a bunch of stuff happened. 3/

🧵 I'm reworking an old thread about Clarence and Ginni Thomas from 2018.

The Thomases have a friend named Harlan Crow, a very rich real estate developer who has sculptures of Vladimir Lenin, Josef Stalin, Karl Marx, Nicolae Ceausescu, Che Guevara, etc. in his backyard garden.
I would say the most egregious "favor" Crow did for them was uncovered by @mmcintire in 2011. Crow financed the restoration of A.S. Varn & Son Oyster & Crab Factory, a cannery outside Savannah, GA & built an adjacent museum, The Pin Point Heritage Museum.

This was a "pet project" of Clarence Thomas', according to the article.

🗣 Jonathan Swan: Let’s talk about a candidate you have talked about: Herschel Walker, the leading GOP candidate in the vital Senate race in GA. You endorsed him. Yet his ex-wife says he pointed a pistol at her head & said “I’m going to blow your f—ing brains out” and…
Swan (cont’d): an ex-girlfriend has accused him of threatening her life. Why is he a suitable candidate?

Mitch McConnell: Herschel Walker has addressed that issue repeatedly over the last 10 years. I think he’s—

Swan: It’s a heck of an issue.
McConnell: Well, he admitted he had had some troubles in his life. He’s been an exemplary citizen in recent years. He’s a hero in GA. Almost every candidate’s had troubled periods.

Swan: I mean, I don’t know that almost every candidate has pointed—

🗣 “I really hope that Russia—because I really believe that President Putin would like to do something. I really hope that you and President Putin can get together to solve your problem. That would be a tremendous achievement. And I know you’re trying to do that.” ⬇️
Trump to newly elected President Zelensky. A not-so-thinly-veiled threat since Russia had already invaded Crimea in 2014 and had started a war in Donbas in eastern Ukraine. That’s why Zelensky needed weapons to defend his country. 8:30 in. 9/25/19

Trump was impeached for the first time on December 18, 2019 for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Trump withheld aid from Ukraine in order to attempt to influence the Ukrainian government to announce an investigation on Joe Biden, his opponent.

I've been screaming about this since 2018. Canada 🇨🇦developed the “Learn to Discern” program which taught 15,000 Ukrainians 🇺🇦 how to detect and decode misinformation and propaganda.

If the Ukrainians did not have this training, they might be begging Putin to annex them.
Finland 🇫🇮, the Netherlands 🇳🇱, Poland 🇵🇱 & other European countries are also took measures to educate the public on Russian propaganda and cyber attacks. We continue to do nothing. #RussiaReport
⁉️ Why in God's name haven't we done this in the U.S. the #propaganda and #disinformation is OUT OF CONTROL here! It is the biggest problem globally, without question.

Fox News, OAN, Newsmax, etc...all need to be regulated somehow.
