Goetz said in 2011 he worked on the case of a German citizen Mr El Mazri who said he was "kidnapped" in Macedonia by the US military, which "has now been confirmed to be true."
The witness says through "complicated research," he found out the names of the CIA staff who had kidnapped El Masri, which led to the Munich state prosecutor issuing 13 arrest warrants.
Later, when he saw the Wikileaks diplomatic cables he saw the US government had put pressure on the German government not to issue the arrest warrants in America, warning of "serious consequences."
Goetz says Wikileaks to careful care to keep unredacted documents safe, using secure servers and encryption, says the system was "robust" #Assange
Witness says there was a conference call with the US State Department who gave them the numbers of the documents they had concerns over, names were then removed from the ones they had mentioned. #Assange
Judge tells Summers he is nearly "out of time"
(she ruled earlier the defence would only be allowed 30 minutes on examination in chief) #Assange
Summers asks about a book by two Guardian journalist's, David Leigh a Like Harding, which, the witness says revealed the password for Wikileaks secure servers.
James Lewis QC for US Government rises to cross-examine Mr Goetz #Assange
Goerz says that Wikileaks did publish some unredacted cables in 2011, but these had already been put online after the Guardian journalist's book revealed the Wilileaks password.
Says they were on a website called Cryptome. #Assange
Prosecution counsel disagrees that they were all already online and says WikiLeaks published a week before Cryptome. #Assange
Goetz asks Lewis if he has a specific example of a sensitive name being released by WikiLeaks?
The witness says wikileaks had invested time and money in screening the documents, a process he found "frustrating" at times.
Lewis asks if it was not true that Der Spiegel had condemned the release of the unredacted documents.
Goetz replies "It did," before adding after a pause, "But I wasn't working there at the time." #Assange
Witness says as far as he is aware WikiLeaks never published the 15,000 unredacted documents.
Lewis now asking about comments made by Julian Assange's mother that he was "funny and humourous,"
He says he agrees.

Why did the Sun/News of the world hack William and Harry so much?
A thread.
Royal news and gossip was a staple of their output, but their problem was that, in 2006/2010 the younger members of the family, who the public was most interested wouldn't cooperate, as they blamed the press for Diana's death
Their Royal reporters were also mostly middle aged men in suits, they wouldn't exactly blend in at the London nightspots the young set hung out at
Counsel now going over emails sent to the Mail on Sunday to Harry's solicitors asking if they wanted to "comment or guide," them on their planned article.
Counsel, Harry had only made the offer to pay when the judicial review was already in progress.
Says "That's the basis of what the criticism [in the article] was about
Back at court (by video link) for a motions hearing in the case of Prince Harry v Associated Newspapers.
Not sure what I'll be able to report, but will let you all know what I can.
