#BeyondRavilious: Tirzah Garwood, was Eric Ravilious’ wife. They met when she was a student at Eastbourne College, married Eric in 1930 & a dozen years later was a war widow. Her work continued, and she deserves to be better known. [thread] 
#BeyondRavilious: Tirzah Garwood was a hugely talented artist, who worked in several different mediums. Her own vision of inter-war Britain largely through her wood-cuts is an important landmark in the art of this period. These examples are in the collection of @FryArtGallery.
#BeyondRavilious: Tirzah Garwood painted, too. In many ways, like Eric, although a different style, they portray Britain in an equally gentle but impactful way. She deserves an exhibition of her own really. Her art appears to be largely in private collections or @TownerGallery.
