Friends, it’s #NationalVoterRegistrationDay! Are you registered to vote? Are all of your friends? Because the following people CERTAINLY are:
This dude is definitely registered to vote. Guys who scream “ABORTION IS A MAN’S ISSUE!” not only register, they often tell their wives how to vote. That means you also gotta get one of your lazy friends registered! #VoteReady
This woman? Registered to vote. A-holes who lie about “abortion until birth” and shit like that, they are registered. YOU should make sure all your college friends are registered! #VoterRegistrationDayactionnetwork.org/forms/pledge-t…
This dude: he is registered to vote. These “mavericks” who think they’re above the law still vote. They gotta control other people’s lives and decisions, after all! #VoteReady
This bro: registered. Little weenies who think masks are TYRANNY and refuse to take COVID seriously are big into voting, and they are BIG MAD about it.
Total dweeb Ben Shapiro is 400% registered to vote y’all. Yep, that guy your grandparents get their news from and wish you were more like. He (and his trapped wife) are registered to vote. Are you? rockthevote.org/how-to-vote/re…
Anti-abortion freaks yelling outside of clinics sure as hell are going to vote. So call all your friends from high school, your second and thirds cousins, and everyone you know to make sure they vote! whenweallvote.org

For #My40Days, let’s talk about MINDFULNESS about how we discuss abortion with friends, people who've had abortions, your aunt Linda, your dentist, and so on. Let’s start with a big one: why we’ve (mostly) stopped saying “pro-choice.”
We are ALL about letting people have agency over their decisions. So yes, naturally, “pro-choice” works well for that. #My40Days
But we also have to think about who “pro-choice” leaves out. The healthcare system and the WORLD are effed up and create all kinds of barriers for people who want to be parents. So for some people maybe it’s not a “choice” to have an abortion so much as a necessity. #My40Days
#RBG taught us to stand up to sexist ghouls. Now that she's gone, misogynists are twirling their gross mustaches, gearing up to replace her legacy with an anti-abortion extremist!
Said anti-abortion ghouls have started their crusade with a nationwide clinic troll-a-thon called "40 Days for Life." #My40Days
In this annual event, hordes of uninvited Catholic hatesplainers "stand guard" outside of abortion clinics for 40 days and 40 nights. Really, it's just stalking. #My40Days
Badass of the day: Shirley Chisholm! Today is the 49th anniversary of Chisholm entering the Democratic primary, making her the first Black woman to run for president of these United States.
When she ran for Congress, her slogan was “Unbought and unbossed.” She also spoke truth to power when she said, “If you don’t have a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.”
When she was elected to Congress — also the first Black woman to do that — they tried to hide her on the ag committee, which took her away from working for the people who actually elected her. Still she rose.
Although she was obstructed by the head of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (fuck you forever, Scott Lloyd and your creepy period tracking), she did eventually receive her abortion with the help of the @ACLU, activists, and @JanesDueProcess.
So today we thought we’d tweet out her statement from the time as a reminder of why we fight so hard for everyone to get the abortion care they need:
