1/ My only critique of “upgraded games” for next gen #PS5 is this:
Part of the draw for the SSD drives was that textures didn’t have to be reused over and over, thereby limiting game size on disk; when compared to #PS4
For a PS4 game to be played on the PS5, a patch is required
2/ Follow me here:
If you buy a game like #Cyberpunk2077 for the PS4 (which comes with a free upgrade), then for it to run on the PS4, it’s going to need to store/load the textures over and over again
So when you get the upgrade, all that data has to be copied for #PS5
3/ That’s going to require the usage of additional space, which a #PS5 edition game PROBABLY won’t use
So if logic dictates that an upgraded edition of a #PS4 game uses up possible 2x - 5x the amount of storage, then wouldn’t you want the #playstation5 only edition?
