Trump should be debating Biden, not the moderator.

He’s currently in control, but I’m not sure if snipin at Chris Wallace helps him. #Debates2020
My undecided focus group does not like Trump’s tone at all. #Debates2020

The @latimes will be live-streaming their reaction after the debate:
@latimes My group of undecided voters don’t mind Trump challenging Biden – but they want to hear the questions from Chris Wallace.

Trump is pushing too hard. #Debates2020
@latimes Biden should not have told Trump to shut up.

Trump has rattled him, and it’s not a good look for Biden. #Debates2020
@latimes My group of undecided voters are telling me this is like reality TV… Except it’s the destruction of America that we’re watching. #Debates2020
This vicious back-and-forth is hurting both candidates.

My undecided group says neither currently looks presidential. #Debates2020
Trump is in total control of the debate stage, but he’s too rude to win over many new votes.

I would like to use this debate to teach my students how to communicate, but I can’t. It would be unfair to my students. #Debates2020
My undecided group just finds this debate funny: “I’ve honestly not laughed this hard in months.”

They don’t mean that in a good way – this ugliness isn’t working for either of the candidates. #Debates2020
Chris Wallace is being praised by my focus group for getting the candidates back under control.

It took a while, but he succeeded. #Debates2020
My undecided group couldn’t care less about Trump’s personal taxes. They feel the tax code itself is what’s wrong. #Debates2020
The most common voter response I’m hearing so far: “I’m so sad for our country.”

#Debates2020
Voters want to hear about the candidates' plans for jobs, not about Hunter Biden or the Trump Family.

There’s a lesson here for both campaign: This should be about the voters, not about themselves. #Debates2020
My group of undecideds want to give the moderator a “mute mic” switch for interrupting candidates.

What does Twitter think? #Debates2020
This debate is not just hurting my ears and both candidates. It’s hurting America. #Debates2020
We’re almost done with the debate, and consensus is that Trump dominated… And turned off undecided voters in the process. #Debates2020
This debate has actually convinced some undecided voters to not vote at all.

I’ve never seen a debate cause this reaction. #Debates2020
• Trump is defending himself, but he should be defending America.

• Biden is at his best when he’s visionary, but instead he’s fighting Trump.

They both need better debate prep. #Debates2020
Chris Wallace was a roll of toilet paper in a shitshow, cleaning up the mess created by the 2 candidates. #Debates2020

I’m getting swamped by emails from reporters and officials asking how the Trump assassination attempt will affect the election, so here’s my response: 🧵
Saturday’s shooting in Pennsylvania will still have a huge impact Election Day.

It will guarantee that every Trump supporter now will be a Trump voter in November.  Trump's voters are energized, Biden's voters are demoralized.
In recent months, President Trump has benefited from more passionate and engaged followers than the Biden campaign, but the shooting will turn that intensity gap into a chasm.

That participation gap is worth at least +1% to +2%. And because the shooting happened in Pennsylvania, the impact will be most significant in Pennsylvania.

I’ve never seen so many people so quiet and respectful.

This truly is a country in mourning. #QueenElizabeth 🇬🇧
In the background is the home of Prince Charles until 10 days ago.
This is the biggest police operation in the history of the UK.

More cops, cars, and security vehicles today. #QueenElizabeth 🇬🇧

With classes now underway, it's time to explain why public schools have lost so many students – and why so many students took gap years rather than be "taught" online… (1/x)

k12dive.com/news/public-sc…
The reason is simple: Parents who actually observed their kids’ classes for the first time were shocked to find what their children were (not) learning and said "ENOUGH!"

It happened nationwide, and it’s far from over. (2/x)

To understand why Americans have turned against college, consider this professor who tweeted that the Queen should suffer “excruciating pain.”

No, she shouldn't be canceled.

But parents shouldn't be surprised when students graduate filled with such hate. buzzfeednews.com/article/steffi…

CBS calls it the “Capitol Assault Hearings.”

NBC calls it “the January 6th hearings.”

ABC calls it the “Attack on the Capitol.”

These banners at the bottom of the screen make a difference in how people perceive the information. #January6th
It took 9 minutes for the hearing to show something other than a politician delivering a teleprompter speech.

That’s too long.

I have 10 students watching with me… And they aren’t watching anymore. They’re more interested in talking to each other than watching the screen.
“It’s too long,” said one of my students.

After 15 minutes, it’s just one politician speaking into the camera.

Literally no one is watching – the TV is on, but no one is watching.

If you compare U.S. gun deaths to all countries, we’re nowhere near the top. (That list is led by El Salvador, Venezuela, and Guatemala.)

If you compare U.S. gun deaths to high-income nations, we’re at the top by a country mile: healthdata.org/acting-data/gu…
If you name your podcast “BASED,” you should at least be competent at reporting relevant context.
Do you think our murder rate would remain the same without widespread, easy access to firearms?

For instance: Would a mass-stabbing have the same mortality rate as a mass-shooting? Sure, there are substitutes for guns – but they drastically decrease the success rate of murders.

I conducted a nationwide research study of Ukrainians with @PremiseData just days before the Russian invasion.

The results (like the invasion that has followed) are staggering.

Three examples… 🧵
@premisedata 1.) 65% of Ukrainians want the U.S. to be Ukraine's primary military and economic partner.

Just 12% chose Russia.
@premisedata 2.) When asked to choose between Russia or America, 79% of Ukrainians say they like and trust the U.S. more

Only 21% chose Russia.
