HOW EXACTLY IS TRUMP DOING?

Trump may not be doing quite as well as the White House would like us to think. We will know he will come out of this only after another week.

This New York Times team reporting on Covid19 is probably the best in the game.
Gina Kolata is a long time NYT health correspondence and has written an authoritative book on the Great Flu Pandemic that took over 50 million lives after WW1, when soldiers returning home carried it to all parts of the world. India too lost almost 2 million people.
Apoorva Mandavalli is the NYT science reporter and was the 2019 winner of the Victor L. Cohn award for scientific journalism.

"At a news conference on Saturday outside the medical center, Dr. Sean P. Conley, Mr. Trump’s physician, painted a
very positive picture of the president’s condition, saying he was doing well, fever-free and not in need of supplemental oxygen.

But immediately afterward, Mark Meadows, the White House chief of staff, contradicted that assessment and said that Mr. Trump’s vital signs in the
last 48 hours “were very concerning” and that the next two days would be critical.

Many doctors stressed the critical period of time — about seven to 10 days after infection — when a patient’s condition can take a turn for the worse. Some people respond to an infection
with an overly exuberant immune response that can worsen their illness and even prove fatal."

Modi is all about optics. His best description came from L.K. Advani. Advani said that Narendra Modi is a very good event manager.

The image of his lighted face sitting inside his bullet proof SUV while riding inside the Rohtang Tunnel is nothing but
event management and PR.

Same is the case of walk in his 10 Acre Humble Home at 7 LK Marg Delhi with Peacocks (protected species under the wildlife act) while the country reels from the quadruple impact of demonetization, GST, Lock Down and Job losses due to economic collapse.
Even during these times of extreme stress on the nation, the PM is missing from the front lines. He does not address the concerns of the nation but does everything else. He beats around the bush at every opportunity to address the nation and talks on inane subjects.

What is the most important thing in today's modern world?

It is money, that controls us. Our lives revolve around money. We want to earn more money such that we can live a comfortable life and give our family a comfortable life. We want to have
money to get over any emergencies in life like a medical emergency. We want to have money because we need a roof over our head, food on the table, cloth on the back and comfortable environment around us. We want to earn enough to live in a society that
provides us with worldly comfort, where we can go out with our family for a walk, take a swim, play with the kids.

Yet, when it comes to understanding money, managing money, etc. most of us tend to shut down and leave that to others.

Come On! You should be proud of the country. Where else does a PM work for 18-18 Hours a day without taking any leave and takes the economy down by 46%?
Where else have you seen a tea boy become the head of a 1.3 Billion people nation coming from a 'Neechi' Jaati?

Where else have you encountered a PM who has a masters degree in 'Entire Political Science' specially conferred him in a convocation held by the
University of Gujarat on a Sunday, while his Bachelors Degree is a closely guarded secret lying in a digital locker?

Where else can you have the son of a poor man (assumed poor as there are no records) rise to become the PM of a nation who has no dynasty to support him?

Today is Lal Bahadur Shastri Birthday
I always feel one of the greatest son of India and his contributions to India gets short changed as Oct 2nd is all about Mohan Das Gandhi
Nehru Gandy ensured we forgot everyone and only remember them
Gandy stayed in Aga Khan palace and acted as if he is so simple and poor
Once Sarojini Naidu said it cost lots of Money to keep Gandhi poo
And about Nehru the less said the better.
He lived like Maharaja on public money and no one asked where do you get that money from ?
In 1963 Ram Manohar Lohia published a pamphlet which said India spent Rs.25000 a day on royal life of Nehru while average indian lived on 3 anna per day (18.75 paisa)
