@matthewjdowd@ProfMSinha Looking forward to the post election liberation where these folks, captives, believers, sycophants, and capo's all try to tell their story about just why they submitted themselves to such a sinking ship as Trump.
@matthewjdowd@ProfMSinha 2/ Sen GOP will say they never did it. Others will say they had no choice and others will claim they had no idea.
How we respond to this: defeat the sycophants at the ballot box and prosecute the lawbreakers, including the chief fixer Barr, will determine the depth and ability
@matthewjdowd@ProfMSinha 3/ of the nation to heal. And then there are all the underlying issues that Trumpism used to cast such a pall across the nation...creating such fearful hatred and distrust...Forcing rage, outrage, and supporting outright violence as a way to garner power for themselves.
@matthewjdowd@ProfMSinha 4/ We have much to heal from. Much to come back to. Will be interesting to see if we have the stuff to make another go at the Sisyphusian task of telling truth, while learning how to become "A more perfect Union".
Not while the current cabal is in power.

Meanwhile...
this is beautiful and spot-on perfect.
It doesn’t seem so, perhaps, but this is the spirit and passion that I feel for the need to get rid of Trump & Trumpism, so that we can continue to journey on this road.
We have to tend to some problems first. Then move on...
This is what that seminal passage in the Declaration means..."Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness".
The REASON for having a government is not for government's sake. That was the greatness of the American Experiment. It was to enable, to release the bound up potential
of the human spirit, in its best aspirations and possibilities.
It is easy to denigrate it by pointing at any of the many failures historically, and contemporary. And still, you'll not find a better "star" to set our course toward...
Most of them describing in one detail or another just who we are.
I wonder if we don't like the picture, and choose politicians who will lie to us and tell us just how great we are. Especially if we do what they want.
They will, they promise with lies, take the burden of
responsibility for the inflicting death and destruction upon themselves. Absolving us from culpability.
I am making the implied point that the system is seriously broken. Trump has pushed it to the breaking point. What happens next is consequential & fundamental.
Tr is no answer to the problem, but has used the problem to destroy any ability to actually address much
@antiwar011@MiraiMirain@caitoz 2/ fix the deep problems we have. If you do not understand this, that
a) in the present tense there are only two power centers at the national level.
b) one is daily working to dismantle the ability to have a functioning democracy, the other is not.
@antiwar011@MiraiMirain@caitoz 3/ As such any effort that supports Trump for any reason is essentially a vote for Trump. If Trump(ism) is to be resisted there is no other force other than the Democratic Party ....At this point in time.
If you need to consider what Tr has done to protesters already...not only
@JaRevenge 1/ To your specific question/point.
The syllogism you pose assumes as the one and only point of distinction between the candidates is the number of babies killed. Ie, the premise.
Even as an analogy it does not hold up. It is too broad, to reductive, to pre-determined the answer.
@JaRevenge 2/ What I think is the essential error in the #NeverBidenNeverTrump meme is it finds some systemic issues/problems, of which there are many (which you will see I understand and deplore, deeply, if you read through some of my posts), take this singular issue, like miltitary
@JaRevenge 3/ spending and make it proxy for every other issue. Collapsing EVERYTHING into a single variable, chosen specifically for the purpose of equivalence and thus making the point, as you have it in your logical form: Killing Babies.
The system that is our society is broken.
In the *hour* it took for this to happen, Tesla gained $Billions in market value. I do not have a problem with that. I do have a problem with it happening while most people are subject to outrages like this, unable to meet basic needs.
Of course it is complicated. But not really. Of course you can find examples of people scamming the system, lazy etc. But that is not even the beginning of the real issues/problem.
The the reason it is complicated: We are very unwilling to work out the systemic problem
at the right level. We look to anecdotal stories to underling and enforce beliefs, while having a hard time confronting the systemic suffering the society, as currently configured, imposes on many, becoming most, of its citizens.
