@shrikanth_krish As a relative 'grown up', I can accept that rote learning is good. But it's not been too long since I was a student and I still remember why I hated it them....

@shrikanth_krish Rote learning might be beneficial at primary school level but I remember having to rote learn programs in C in my first year of bachelor's. In our exams, unless we 'wrote' down the program that was 'taught' to us, we were not allowed to run them on the computer. 2/n
@shrikanth_krish In primary and high school exams, we were expected to write the same answers that were dictated to us in the classroom. If we deviated from the 'written word', we were penalized. 3/n
@shrikanth_krish Scoring low marks in the exams because one is original and seeing the student who could rote learn teacher's notes top the class breaks the spirit of a growing child. 4/n
@shrikanth_krish Undue importance given to rote learning and penalizing students who can think for themselves and come up with original answers in exams leads to the disdain with which rote learning is looked at today. 5/n
@shrikanth_krish The ideal situation would be to categorize what can be rote learned and what needs to be understood. Multiplication tables, periodic table, formulae, declension tables are all fair game. But scientific thinking, programming, etc, need to be taught a different way. n/n

Namaskara @Tejasvi_Surya. Residents of JP Nagar 9th phase, Anjanapura and the neighboring areas are suffering due to garbage related issues in their surroundings. There are landfills, garbage segregating units, illegal burning of garbage and illegal dumping of garbage everywhere.
This has been an ongoing issue for over a decade. Multiple complaints have been made and the issue can be seen discussed on the internet as well. When complained to BBMP, a temporary solution is given to 'resolve' the complaint but nothing has changed.

The development of the area has been stalled for over a decade due to this problem. Potential buyers refrain from buying sites around this garbage disposal unit and owners of sites don't construct their houses due to the garbage nuisance
