The 7-day positivity average, which runs a week behind, continues an 8-day rise to 4.8%, highest in nearly 3 weeks. For 1st-time patients, the rate is 8.5%, highest since July 18. Today's batch of tests came back 5.4% positive; 11.5% among 1st-time patients.
1,019 Hoosiers are hospitalized with #coronavirus, the first time over 1,000 since August 6, and the highest total since May 31. Of those, 309 are in intensive care, the first time over 300 since August 11 and the highest total since that date.
Five counties have positivity averages above the 10% "orange line," one more than yesterday, with Pike County the highest at 15.8%. Only one of those counties, Spencer, was in ISDH's orange zone when the agency posted its weekly #COVID scores last Wednesday.
Benton County shows a positivity rate of zero but has four cases which haven't hit the average yet.
ISDH has also updated its K-12 #COVID data, which debuted on the agency's dashboard last week. Since the last update, ISDH has added 303 student cases, 59 teacher cases, and 79 among other staff. 1/3 of Indiana schools have had at least one case; 38% haven't reported data.
