I for one am not surprised. I’ve known for quite some time that Power Attainment is the biggest priority of May and Green Party of Canada. It’s not the environment, social policy or truth.

It’s power.

This information should fold the party.

All three elected Green Party representatives are more worried about their image rather than justice, ethics or women’s rights.

As a woman I’m offended and disappointed.

As a victim of harassment, I’m outraged.

But this is how leaders in systems barter in power and why justice is elusive for victims of abuse and harassment.

Because those in power consider their own individual needs before deciding what is just or ethically supportable.

Clearly this is evidence of systemic sexism, and from two women, no less.

Pure political opportunism. When power becomes more important than the people you serve, you abdicate any claim to leadership.

Awareness that the person in question has covered up sexual harassment and had also been credibly accused of harassment himself didn’t change their support for him. Ethics are secondary to the image the party has in the political realm. Party over people. Image over ethics.

The Green Party is a charade.

Politics can be a dirty game. But only if you allow power to replace policy.

When you compromise your principles, ethics, morals, and justice for popularity, you forfeit credibility and trust.

I’m mindful of the new leader for the Green Party, Annamie Paul.

Since this leak reveals the MPs efforts to virtue signal to POC and LGBTQ community, was that the motive for choosing a POC as leader vs her legal background, experience and policy preferences?

What an insult to such an accomplished woman! Or was that the very motivation for the leak? To complicate her leadership?

As May & the other 2 MPs clearly state, the Greens are a “white” party. How demoralizing to know skin colour was perhaps a factor in choosing leadership.

Knowing how Greens make leadership decisions and how party image is valued over ethics is nauseating.

It also throws the LGBTQ community under the bus. Blaming them for wanting to retain a tainted leader because he’s the only one making them feel welcome.

You’d think addressing the lack of welcome for diverse representation within party ranks might be the issue to tackle.

But I guess it’s simpler to ignore ethics than to face and attempt to resolve uncomfortable truths about Green Party “whiteness.”

Sure says a lot about the Green Party’s beliefs and values when the only Green fostering welcome for LGBTQ is a POC who helped cover up sexual harassment at his last job, swearing never to do that again. Like women haven’t heard that a bazillion times over the last few millennia.

May was one of the biggest supporters of JWR. Immediately stating she believed her accusations, without evidence to deny or support them, like it was a MeToo moment.

That, it seems, was political opportunism. Theatre.

When a real MeToo moment emerged, she reveals her true colours. Opportunistic, callous, incapable of relating honestly to BIPOC & LGBQT & fuelled by lust for power.

Putting every one of her virtuous displays of ethics into question and doubt. Was it all just political theatre?

Was Liz actually outraged by PMJT’s efforts to understand why his MOJAG wouldn’t use a new & viable tool created to address public interest, or was she just virtue signalling because it provided an opportunity to build an image of virtue and ethics as leader?

I’ve always known the answer to that question, since the day it happened. Let’s hope Green Party supporters figure out their former leader is a fraud & always has been.

But delusion and denial are powerful tools to avoid painful truths.

One always has hope though.
