Why use post-it notes?
• It allows you to visually see with ease where the important passages of a book are located
This comes in handy if you want to use the information you read for a future project, book, or simply just to revisit a valuable lesson.

How do you use post-its?
For starters, don’t put them on the top or bottom of a page.
You want to put them on the side because the side of a book is longer in length & thus you can spread the notes out which makes it easier to access.

Let’s dive a bit deeper.
Instead of using a regular post it note that takes up a lot of real estate & blocks the text...
Use a page marker or flag.
You’ll save more paper & see more of the text.
(ps: they make cool highlighters that come with flags in their cap)

Additionally, instead of writing on the post-it note, write in the margins.
No post-it note sticks forever. You don’t want to lose your insight if it falls off somewhere. If you write in the book your insights will last much longer.

Advanced:
You can use multiple colored flags to signal different thing.
You can make:
• blue = interesting quotes
• yellow = key lessons
Once you master the rules, you’re free to break them & create a system that works best for you.
