THREAD: With the lib media rushing to spew Gov. Whitmer's toxic accusation that Trump's criticisms of her policies were responsible for the vile kidnapping plot against her, it's worth looking back at the liberal attacks against the GOP since 2016 and the media's disregard.

In October of 2016, the Orange County GOP Head Quarters in North Carolina was firebombed in an act of "political terrorism." @CNN's @brianstelter responded by blaming Trump.

"So the Arizona Republic getting so many death threats over an endorsement is an example of how overheated the rhetoric is,” Stelter said. “Another example out of North Carolina today, the firebombing of a local GOP office.”

The next day, @CNN's @NewDay brushed over the attack with just 2 news briefs. Essentially paying it lip service and moving on.

That same day, @NBCNews's @TODAYshow spent almost 3 minutes suggesting Trump supporters would get violent if he lost the election and only 39 seconds for the firebombing of the GOP office.

Later that night, @NBCNightlyNews continued to rail against Trump supporters as the violent ones as they commended NC Democrats for raising money to help reopen the office.

Fast forward to the 2018 midterm election and NONE of the networks cared about a Wyoming GOP office getting set on fire.

Instead of reporting on the attack, NBC spent a portion of their broadcast talking about changes to the Oscars and closed with a “spotlight” on Cher’s career. ABC discussed a giraffe attack, while CBS was touting Twitter permanently banning Alex Jones.

Earlier that summer, a brick was thrown through the window of a GOP office in Nebraska with the words "ABOLISH ICE" written on it. The nets ignored that too.

If the networks' disregard for the life of GOP politicians needed more evidence, they blacked out the "switchblade" attack against a Republican candidate in California.

.@CBSNews may have ignored the story but local affiliate KPIX had a story on it. "A man was arrested on suspicion of felony assault and other charges after allegedly attempting to stab a Republican congressional candidate with a switchblade over the weekend at in Castro Valley”

As the 2018 midterms pushed closer to Election Day, it became overly abundant that attacks and threats against GOP offices, gatherings, and candidates were surging.
@ABC, @CBSNews, @NBCNews ignored them, but @FoxNews didn't.

Fox covered how a female GOP state representative in Minnesota was punched by a leftist extremist. Another GOP candidate in Minnesota was attacked at a restaurant and was hit so hard he blacked out. And a Vermont legislative candidate was being "hunted" by leftists there.

And with Election Day 2018 just a few days away, the networks covered up how the Volusia County Florida Republican Party headquarters was shot up in a drive-by. Luckily, no one was inside.
