So, kind of a sad story.

Some you may remember the story I told earlier this year about my friend the restaurant owner.

Well...the restaurant is dead as of next week.

Many have forgotten, but in the end of March, it was Pelosi who was stalling and obstructing the CARES act, etc. They delayed for several weeks, which led to this discussion and the Twitter thread linked above. You can read it through.

Well, after CARES/PPP was passed, he did get a loan, but it took quite some time. In fact, a couple of us had to connect him to bankers that could help him out, because he couldn't find one himself.

But he did get the loan.

Things have obviously been slow through out. His restaurant heavily depended on several local schools, etc, that have gone mostly virtual. So he was struggling. He slowly had to let most of his staff go, and the only people working the last month were family members.

Well, he emailed me tonight, and said its over. He needs more loan money, and that isn't coming. He'll end up defaulting on the PPP (he doesn't even know how that'll work) but he can't make his next lease payment.

So, good job Democrats and Republicans. Delaying the stimulus package was really worth it. Kudos.

I am sure thousands of other Americans are going through something similar. And Washington DC doesn't give a damn about them.
