THREAD: Gerrymander Alert:

Folks, this video is the warning. Their plan is to rig elections for another decade if they can. To keep people like Jim Jordan in office

But in Ohio & elsewhere, we can stop them. By Electing Dem candidates to statehouse and state senate seats..

....and by securing the majority of the OH Supreme Ct , we can cut off any effort to gerrymander Ohio for the next decade.

But...they will fight hard to stop us. Karl Rove is even involved

A few days ago, I challenged the twitterverse to help us end gerrymandering by....

....giving whatever you can to a fund that is intended to flip the Ohio Court.

Think of it as our fund to end gerrymandering and get rid of people like Jim Jordan.

Hundreds responded. We raised almost $18k, but our goal is to get to $25k.

🚨🚨 Biden Back to Ohio!

THREAD. There's a reason @JoeBiden is coming back to Ohio tomorrow, stopping in both Toledo & Cincinnati.

It's because we're tied here, and if we win here, the Trump presidency is over!

As is his his plan to undo the outcome of the election

We all know that a Blue Ohio gives Biden the electoral votes he needs to win. Karl Rove made that clear in 2012. A blue Ohio means it's done.

But you may NOT know that Ohio counts its early votes (both in-person and by mail) FIRST.

And announces them first.

You also may not know that the system of vote-by-mail Ohio uses (you must send in an application) is the kind that even Trump (with all his false propaganda about VBM) has said is ok.

And we have a GOP Sec. of State, so Trump can't claim "Dems rigged it."

THREAD -- more excerpts from the district court decision calling unconstitutional LaRose's ban on off-site drop boxes and ballot delivery.

Summary: it's absolutely brutal:

"On Oct. 2, the Ohio Court of Appeals held that Ohio law does not require that voters who wish to deliver their completed ballots to the board of elections deliver the ballots to the board office itself, and that off-site drop boxes are therefore permissible...."

"...Secretary LaRose has nevertheless chosen to keep in place Directive 2020-16, which he issued August 12....The Court has given the Secretary every opportunity to address the problem identified at the September 23 hearing, and he has been unwilling or unable to do so...."

Jordan is an Ohio embarrassment. A national embarrassment. But he's also a symptom of a much bigger problem...

Gerrymandering.

Ohio's gerrymandering--as bad as any in the nation--is not only destroying any semblance of a functional political system in Ohio govt--but it's sending the likes of Jordan to Congress with no accountability.

So he gets away with his antics again and again.

Here is a map of Jim Jordan's district. Yes, it looks like a duck, twisting and turning from Lorain down to Urbana (!)

But the deeper problem is that it's rigged. It's designed in a way that allows Jordan to act like he does, every day, with no accountability back in Ohio.

On Day 1: A profile of a long-time GOP, Ohio suburban county: Butler

1) The number of requests by registered Democrats has already tripled from those requested in all of 2016, thus erasing what had been an over 3:1 Republican advantage in 2012 and 2016. Dems slightly lead.

2) The number of requests from registered Democrats with a month to go is over 2,000 higher than the Democratic requests in 2008 and less than 500 requests fewer than the registered Republican requests in all of the 2016 general election.

3) In terms of the share of the early vote, the Democratic requests are nearly double the share of the vote they were in 2016 and substantially closer to the turnout in 2008 than 2012 or 2016.

BREAKING: for months, Ohio's SOS Larose has claimed that he wanted to expand drop boxes in Ohio counties, but that Ohio law prevented him from doing so.

Just now, all three judges in our drop box appeal agreed with us that nothing in Ohio law prevents him from adding more.

"We agree with the trial court that the Secretary's interpretation of R.C. 3509.05 is not reasonable and that the statute neither prescribes nor prohibits ballot drop boxes at locations other than the boards of elections....

"...If, as appellees argue, the Secretary wants to permit additional drop boxes, he has the authority to do so and nothing in this decision prohibits him from rescinding Directive 2020-16 and issuing a new directive accordingly."

Re-watch them if you can. Pressed again and again, he not only refused to say he'd accept the results of the election...he actually made clear that there are millions of votes he has no intention of counting if he has his way.

He makes it very clear. Under his plan, millions of votes simply won't be counted. (And Chris Wallace didn't call him on it).

Now, of course we can't let that plan happen. We will fight for very vote to be counted. In every state. In Ohio.
