There was a shooting in Denver after dueling rallies between pro-Trump groups and BLM/Antifa. The victim has been pronounced dead.

This comes after a similar shooting by an Anitfa associate in Portland a little over a month ago.
Immediately after the shooting you can see at least one Antifa member walking away yelling:

“One less white supremacist.

Hell yea! Right in the f*cking dome”

Here is a freeze-frame of the shooting.

Denver police are reporting that the suspect is an unnafiliated private security guard. Unclear what he was doing there or who he was with.
Update Matthew Doloff has been charged with first degree murder. He was there as security for @9NEWS, but social media activity suggests Denver police’s tweet that he had no other affiliation was premature. That obviously raises questions about @9NEWS’ vetting.
Seems rather clear now that @9NEWS’ vetting was questionable.

This is important because it shows how groups like WHO have been selectively quoting "experts" to promote pre-determined conclusions even when those conclusions clearly contradict basic science.
WHO has been consistently terrible on COVID-19, but this phenomenon isn't limited to them. We saw the same thing with the press extensively citing "experts" to claim that protests and riots were not contributing to the spread of COVID-19.
"Public health records, scores of scientific studies and interviews with more than two dozen experts show the policy of unobstructed travel was never based on hard science. It was a political decision, recast as health advice"

Clear as day.

Trump is right. Democrats would absolutely try to fill the seat, and it's silly to pretend otherwise. And Republicans would equally complain about the process. The voters had their say when they voted in 2016 and 2018. #Debate2020
Trump is also correct that Biden has no idea what will happen on abortion with SCOTUS or how Barrett will rule. Suggesting millions will lose their health insurance is just fear-mongering. #Debate2020
Forgetting Trump's trolling, it's indefensible that Biden won't take a position now on an idea (packing the courts) being actively promoted by leaders within his own party. #Debates2020

Remember all of those tweets a few months ago about the difference in new cases in Europe compared to the United States, and how it was indicative of how poor our response was to Covid-19?

Here is an updated so Steve's graphic from Aug 1.

What is rather obvious here is that the EU had a much tighter lockdown than the US, resulting in fewer cases during the lockdown. We also had more testing throughout that period, thus identifying more cases. Once EU lockdowns were loosened, they got hit with a second wave.

1) Ruther Bader Ginsburg lived an incredible and accomplished life that deserves to be celebrated. May she Rest In Peace.
2) Since I already know this will be a topic of dishonesty in the press: The Garland Rule from McConnell was that the Senate shouldn’t vote on a nominee during an election year when the POTUS is a different party. Many people have left that qualifier out.
3) This is going to get ugly. There will be a nominee and I feel terrible for that person because it’s rather clear that there will be a coordinated effort to destroy them regardless how impeccable their record.

A lot of the discussions of how conservatives critical of Trump should or will vote in 2020 make the mistake of pretending the group is a monolith. There are actually several reasons different groups of conservatives opposed or were reluctant to support Trump in 2016.
Ex: For the conservatives who prioritized policy, Trump has been much better than expected in many areas.

For those who objected to Trump's character, he hasn't changed or adapted to the office.

For others, it was a balance of those things that they must now weigh.
Most importantly, circumstances have also changed. Democrats have moved significantly to the left since 2016, but their nominee doesn't have nearly the same likability issues as the nominee in 2016.

Point being that there are lots of factors that voters weigh individually.

This is so backwards and very indicative of how terrible media coverage of COVID-19 has been.
8 out of Govs w/ the top 10 approvals have a Covid death rate above 60 per 100k. The other 2 are Republicans.

Only 2 out of Govs w/ the bottom 10 approvals have a Covid death rate above 60 per 100K. Only 1 Dem in the group, Hawaii's Ige.

Speaks volumes about the coverage. ImageImage
The media consistently rewarded Governors that failed to protect at-risk constituents because they were juxtaposed against Trump. Meanwhile, they punished Governors that performed much better at protecting their most vulnerable populations because they had an R by their name.
