WHICH SUPPLEMENTS SHOULD YOU TAKE?

A question I get all the time.

So here's a list of some I’ve found useful over the years.

~Thread~
Let's first establish that 99% of supplements are trash & a waste of money.

+ sups are a waste if your training & nutrition aren't on point.

Most are gimmicks targeted towards naive people.

E.g. “Lose 10lbs in 7 days with this pill”

So.. here’s some actually beneficial ones👇
1. Whey protein

If you struggle with hitting your protein goal everyday, I suggest taking 1-2 scoops of whey protein.

It's NOT a protein meal replacement, its simply to help increase your protein intake when you struggle to eat enough.

I take 1-2 scoops most days. Works great
2. Collagen protein

Collagen is the main structural protein in various connective tissues throughout your body

Things like your hair, nails, skin, tendons, and ligaments will all benefit greatly

I add 1 scoop (10g collagen) to my protein shake

Awesome stuff!
3. Omega 3 fish oils

Fish oils have shown amazing-scientifically proven benefits for the human body.

It aids in weight loss when combined with a workout program as well as reducing bodily inflammation and supporting healthy skin/hair

4. Creatine

Creatine is one I recommend for those trying (and struggling) to put on size.

Creatine helps your muscle cells produce more energy to get in those extra few reps that really lead to muscle growth.

Also great for high intensity exercise performance (cough, athletes)
5. Magnesium

One of the best in my opinion, is magnesium.

It is involved in over 600 reactions in your body like energy creation, muscle formation, nervous system regulation, etc

Read more here: healthline.com/nutrition/10-p…

I take magnesium before bed every night!
6. Vitamin D3

Majority of my followers are from North America, so this involves many of you

Approx 30-40% of the US & Canada population is vitamin D3 deficient

Combining this supplement + getting outside for more sunshine can do numbers for your hormones (like testosterone!)
7. Vitamin C

Vitamin C is involved in the growth, repair and development of tissues in the body

It also is great for immune system support, wound healing, and maintenance of things such as your bones, teeth and cartilage

I take it daily with my vitamin D3

“THE BIG 6” movements you NEED to have in your workout programming

This is useful info for anyone training, so read on.

~Thread~
1. Horizontal push (e.g. bench press)

These movements work your chest primarily, triceps & delts as secondary

You can do any variation (incline, decline) of bench press to target your entire pectoral muscles

Use proper form and leave the ego at at the door on this exercise
2. Vertical push (e.g. overhead press)

Vertical push movements should be a staple in your routine.

Having strong shoulders makes life a heck of a lot easier.

You use your shoulders more than you realize!

Prioritize the vertical push.

Age based discrimination drives me nuts

I might be 23 years old

But I’ve exp’d a hell of a lot for someone my age.

I’ve experienced struggle

I’ve made $30k in a day

I’ve ran a half mill company at 19

I’ve earned a uni degree

I cared for my dying father during all of this
I may not be experienced like you

I may not have the wisdom of someone older

I may not have a family yet

But next time you right off someone based solely on them being “young”

Think again

Some of the smartest people on earth are younger than you.

My rant of the day.

Cheers
By no means am I saying I am smarter or wiser than people older than me

Nor am I saying I’ve been through the most shit ever. Not at all. People go through worse

I am saying you should hear someone out before you judge how old they are

You never know who you are talking to

I am 23 years old

So here are 23 life lessons I've learned so far
1. Stop caring so much about what others think. For the most part, their opinions are completely irrelevant
2. Learn to say no without explaining yourself. You don't owe anyone an explanation

HOW TO IMPROVE SLEEP QUALITY

One of the most asked questions I get...

So here's 8 tips to help you get that rest you need

~ RT/like to save this thread for later ~
1. Cut off caffeine earlier in the day

As you know, I talk about black coffee a lot

I love it during a fast.

However, coffee/energy drinks/etc anytime past 12-2pm, especially if you're sensitive to caffeine...

May disrupt your sleep that night.

Avoid later in the day.
2. No screens an hour before bed

The blue light emitted by these screens/devices has been proven to disrupt your sleeping patterns

Specifically, it disrupts your circadian rhythm and delays the release of melatonin in your brain

Resulting in poor rest and a tired you
