15. *Zimpost and POSB*

@Zimposts and @POSBZimbabwe were put up for sale, but neither of the two has been privatised.

According to a recent update from @ZimTreasury: “A new Strategic Plan is being finalized which will determine the timing and the model of the privatization.”
16. @Ziscosteel:

The TSP’s wish, was to get a deal to revive Ziscosteel.
17. An agreement with R & F properties of China for Ziscosteel, signed by the previous administration, was canceled. The TSP supported an alternative plan under which a local company, ZimCoke,
18. would take over Zisco’s coke oven battery in exchange for paying off the company’s old debts. The deal has since been canceled over “corporate governance issues”.
19. Petrotrade:

The TSP promised to partially privatise the state-owned oil retailer Petrotrade. It hasn’t happened.

Cabinet approved the merger of @PetrotradeZW and Genesis, a subsidiary of the National Oil Company (NOIC), as well as CMED fuels,
20. into a fuel retailing business. @PetrotradeZW couldn’t afford the fees charged by consultants, and the contract was cancelled.
21. @zupcobus:

TSP planned to sell the bus company. The plans stalled because the company could not pay @KPMGAfrica Nigeriathe chosen consultants. In any case, strategy on @zupcobus has changed since the TSP.
22. Fuel prices in January 2019 forced the government to subsidise @zupcobus and acquire new buses for the company. So, selling it to a private investor now seems unlikely.
A legal challenge by ZimRe, in which the reinsurer claims 49% in ZUPCO, remains unresolved.
23. Day River Corporation, linked to Pioneer Transport co-founder Hamish Rudland, is the single biggest shareholder in ZimRe, with 40%. Government directly owns 22% of ZimRe and has influence over the National Social Security Authority, a 15% shareholder in the group.
24. *ZMDC*

Under the TSP, ZMDC placed six of its mines on sale. Within a month, there were 151 bidders. However, in March 2019, the government withdrew the sale, saying it had not attracted quality bids.
25. In July, it was announced that some ZMDC would go into joint ventures with Landela. Other ZMDC partners would be Sakunda Holdings, Chinese giant Tsingshan, and Tumagole, a little-known South African venture, as well as the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.
26.@FlyAirZimbabwe*

The TSP planned to find strategic partners for the airline. That didn’t work. In October 2018, the airline was placed under administration. A tender opened for new partners a month later. No quality investors made bids.
27. POTRAZ, BAZ merger resisted

The TSP proposed a merger of the P @Potraz_zw and @baz_zw.
This failed “due to diverging views of the parent ministries in as far as the merger is concerned”.
28. #Zimbabwe missed out on catching up with the rest of the world, where telecoms and broadcasting have long converged.
29. Grain Marketing Board

The TSP’s plan was to split the GMB into two; the strategic grain reserve and a commercial arm, Silo Foods. This was done in April 2019, when Silo was registered as a subsidiary. @nssazw is now in talks to take up a 35% stake in Silo Foods. nce.
30. Ernst & Young are conducting due diligence.
31. *ZIDA:*

The TSP promised to merge agencies that deal with investors into one entity, the Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency (ZIDA). This was done.

ZIDA merged the Special Economic Zones Authority, the Zimbabwe Investment Authority, and the Joint Venture Unit.
32. Zimtrade was initially part of the deal, but it was later decided to let it stand alone. Over the past two years, the National Investment Policy was launched, and new Investment Guidelines were published. A new board chaired by United Refineries CEO @BusisaMoyo was appointed,
33. and respected banker Douglas Munatsi was announced as ZIDA CEO
34. SOEs deals failed to materialize not coz of TSP but rather a combination of debts, bad perception towards #Zimbabwe and #Sanctions. It won’t be easy to mobilize money destined for #Zimbabwe. These are big deals, any investor will have to borrow money from international banks.
35.
35.@zinwawater is key to current agriculture revolution, I do not see it privatized. Secondly it’s a key utility service provider. It’s different from ZESA which is being rebundled, currently there is nothing wrong with ZINWA

1. Two years ago in TSP, Cde @MthuliNcube( yes, now i easily add the Cde prefix before his name for he has fought a hard fight) promised to reform parastatals among many other things. Today I will take time to share progress on some of the parastatals among other aspects.
2. *Storage Commission*

Launching the TSP, Ncube announced a draft livestock farming concession agreement with UK’s Boustead Beef. Boustead, would take over CSC’s feedlots and abattoirs. Two years on, CSC is nowhere near any rescue, and still US$36 million in debt.
3. According to @MoLAWRR_Zim Minister Anxious Masuka last week, CSC is being placed under reconstruction to protect it from creditors.

“In terms of progress (on a deal to revive CSC), we all know that the expectations have not been met,” Masuka said.

1. Many #Zimbabweans think 2008 situation in #Zimbabwe was unique n this has been largely due to the fact that we are so insular n so polarized we look at things in terms of @ZANUPF_Official n @mdczimbabwe. Bt 2008 there was a Global Financial Meltdown.
2. In First World Countries, Governments had to step in to save Financial Institutions from collapse m folding up. There was a Financial Crisis across the World. #Zimbabwe as a country already under sanctions was severely affected coz it had no external credit lines.
3. The ZWD as it was then, was deliberately shorted...yes, attacked deliberately. Many will doubt this but there is precedence to it you know. George Soros once shorted the British Pound itself. Its a deliberate position adapted in the Money Market.

1. One of the reasons we are poor as Africans is: we are not using our own template to accumulate wealth.

Look at it this way: the white man successfully taught us that whatever is African is not suitable for consumption...
@Uncle_Genius @mhtestd @ZANUPF_Official @InfoMinZW
2. Even removed our small grains n replaced with maize( did u know our staple food isnt even native to us?)

They thoroughly brainwashed our minds of the love of anything African n in the end, we are just a bunch of people who simply are animated filing cabinets.
3. So yes, we may make money bt we never translate that to wealth coz what we were taught isnt growing it coz we hv forgotten how we used to grow it ourselves.

Even our writers always write about some rich African who at his death, his children where left with nothing.
