🚨Mexico’s former Defense Secretary under former President Enrique Pena Nieto, General Salvador Cienfuegos, was arrested in Los Angeles on charges that are not yet public. 🚨
Crap, I can’t search my tweets or add to my cartel swamp thread.
Last year, Genaro Garcia Luna, who was the former Secretary of Public Security in Mexico under Nieto, was indicted for taking bribes from the Sinaloa Cartel.
Here's some more info. General Cienfuegos is accused of trafficking a large amount of cocaine, heroin, meth and marijuana from 2015 to 2017 to help the H-2 Cartel.
He protected the H-2 cartel by making sure military ops were not carried out against them, but did carry out ops against rival cartels.
Looks like he may have also been helping another cartel.
AMLO again noted that corruption is the “root of Mexico’s most serious problems.”
And while it’s an enormous task that will never be fully completed because the illegal drug industry is never ending, Mexico has been working with the US and Colombia to go after the cartels.
Micheline Pollock, the former CEO of construction company & US military contractor Dover Vantage, was indicted for fraud related to humanitarian and military construction projects across Africa.
DOJ didn’t specifically mention when the fraud occurred, but Dover Vantage won USACE and NAVFAC contracts between 2011 and 2018 to build things such as a military plane hangar in Niger and a maternity ward & school for the deaf in Togo.
Ok, I guess I was the entire time from 2011 - 2018.

Just saw this. CSPAN reported that the Commission on Presidential Debates is looking into it with help from authorities. It doesn’t say what authorities, though.
