Starlord as a GP trainee (a thread)

#teamGP @rcgp
When he first walks in to his GP rotation after years of a few service provision jobs
His first patients is a long standing one and he introduces himself as a registrar
When he is chatting to another trainee from a different speciality who says GP is the "easy option"
He gets called just before lunch to go on a home visit (PPE and all)
He might have gotten lost but looks cool doing it
Also forgets that he has a medical student in with him
He clocks that the patient has an incarnated hernia and that no they can't just stay at home and they have to go to the surgeons
He gets back to she a huge list of patients each one with completely different issues and concerns
Then he realises that that training is kicking in and he actually has the most of the skills and knowledge to deal with most things
Manages to sort out patient queries, pathology, letters, telephone triag and face to face consultations
Deals with issues including:
MSK issues
Exploring mental health
And the serious complaint that the patient only tells him with their hand on the door
When he starts to get a bit overwhelmed he puts on his brave face
He isn't sure what to do
Realises he isn't alone and he had a massive team of differently skilled colleagues to help him out with all problems as well as colleagues in hospital who are always there
Underneath that friendly punching bag GP exterior underneath his is a badass doctor
Whatever his special interest (from paeds to ortho to oncology etc) is he has the freedom to do that whenever, however and wherever he wants
And he realises how much they actually do in #teamGP and now defends it fiercely

Oh and a good work life balance
