Even if this issue is resolved, our representative should be fighting from the moment anyone threatens their constituents, to ensure that political gamesmanship does not cause unnecessary stress to victims of wildfire. (2/7)
In matters of security and well-being for people in California’s 1st District who have already experienced the unimaginable, it is absolutely unacceptable for our elected leaders to stand idly by while games are played with their lives. (3/7)
This isn't the first time our Congressman has been silent when his voice mattered most. In 2018 after the Camp Fire, admittedly I was tired after running our first campaign - thoughts of running again in 2020 were the furthest thing from my mind as our communities suffered. (4/7)
But my passion and energy to fight for the North State was reinvigorated when I was hearing directly from members of the U.S. House of Representatives & the U.S. Senate that essential decisions about relief funding were being debated & Rep. LaMalfa was nowhere to be found. (5/7)
The level of funding initially proposed was going to leave Butte County with a $2 billion recovery shortfall, and the only person who could advocate for us was not showing up to do his job. (6/7)
This is why we need a representative who leads for people, not politics. A true public servant knows who they are accountable to. They know that their only job is to prioritize the well-being of the people they serve. I will be that representative. I'm ready to get to work. (7/7)

Tune in now to watch tonight's forum live, and stay tuned for updates on Twitter as we move through tonight's topics. Thank you for joining this evening.
"A lot about life in our district and life in our world has changed. And not for the better. We have had the most devastating wildfires we have seen taking lives, homes, and livelihoods. A global pandemic has struck and taken the lives of our family and community members."
"My ask for you is simple. Trust me with your vote. Send me to D.C. for two years. And if you’re not happy with the work I do for you, then fire me in 2022. That’s what this office should be."
In less than one hour, the only forum that will be held between Rep. LaMalfa and I will be airing live, and you will have the opportunity to take part in this critical part of our democratic process by learning about your candidates for #CA01. (1/4)
I am ready to share my vision for making our communities better, stronger, and more resilient with you. Together, I know we can live into our North State vision and values. (2/4)
Here’s how to watch live:
⭐️ Tune into the League of Women Voters of Western Nevada County Facebook Page and event (below) for a live-stream of the forum (@LWVWNC)
⭐️ Turn your TV to channel to Comcast Channel 18 (3/4)
There are so many ways to answer the call to service during this season, and that call is louder than ever as we move closer to November 3rd. COVID-19 has significantly impacted our communities, and the election process is no exception. (1/4)
Across the country, we are experiencing a shortage of election workers. If you are able to hear this call to service, please consider signing up to join the fight for democracy by signing up to become an election worker. (2/4)
Visit votunteer.org to connect to these opportunities in your local jurisdiction, and visit sos.ca.gov/elections/poll… for more information about what it means to play this pivotal role. (3/4)
This video from 2018 reminds me of how far we have come since January of 2018, when I announced my first run to represent California’s 1st Congressional District. I am so proud of this campaign and all it represents. (1/7)
Our message and our values have been about truth and effective representation for all since day one. This video may be a year old, but it is exactly the same message I would give today. (2/7)
It also reminds me of how much we miss one another, including the opportunity to share space and community with our North State neighbors as we fight to make our part of the world a better place. (3/7)
Real talk: We have two crises we are facing today in Butte County. We have an active fire bearing down on our communities, and we are experiencing the ongoing, long-term effects of what we went through during the Camp Fire. (1/5)
Today is not a day to hide your fears and anxieties that may be reactivated due to the smoke and ash in the sky. Today is a day to reach out for support and share that experience, whether to a loved one or to a support hotline. (2/5)
You can call the Disaster Distress Helpline at 1-800-985-5990 for confidential support in dealing with this moment (3/5)
We’re now officially two months away from Election Day. That’s 8 weeks, 56 days or 1,344 hours. No matter how you slice it, we are rapidly approaching a crossroads for the North State. (1/6)
We started this movement nearly 3 years ago because we wanted to create a better future for our communities. We have kept this fight going because we want the leaders who represent us to reflect our North State values and vision, and to keep our interests at the forefront. (2/6)
Our fight for effective leadership has grown exponentially, and I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished and created together.
Your passion, your grit, and your resolve empower me every single day to be the advocate you deserve in Congress. (3/6)
