THREAD: THE DANCE OF THE LARPER

The people who create 4chan LARPs (that is, hoaxes) often escalate their claims to create drama and hold readers' attention.

This is the Dance of the LARPer, or "LARP spiral" if I'm running out of characters. 😃Examples:

FBI Anon initially claimed to be "a person with intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the Clinton case."

Roughly three hours after his first post, he was telling anons that they were right about "huge Jewish influence" and "Soros as puppet master."

Shortly after *that*, he claimed that the EU and NATO was being "heavily" pushed to war against Russia, then went back to explaining George Soros' master plan and didn't hesitate to add that "the Holocaust was a lie." (Always remember: 4chan loves Nazis.)

All of this is, of course, ridiculous bullshit. But what's notable for our purposes is that FBIAnon started off claiming to have knowledge of one specific thing: the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton.

4 hours later, he was claiming insight into geopolitics & George Soros.

In other words, he started with a relatively limited, plausible-sounding claim: I have expertise into narrow subject X.

But almost immediately, he was pandering to 4chan's worst prejudices and claiming expertise over subjects ranging not merely from A to Z but α to Ω.

Why?

Well, one reason is that it's hard to keep anons engaging w/you-- and, therefore, hard to harvest those sweet, sweet hits of dopamine -- if you stick rigidly to your cover story & keep saying "I don't know."

So a LARPer who's not getting those dopamine hits has to try SOMETHIN'

The problem with the LARP spiral, of course, is that it undermines the LARPer's claim to authenticity.

Sometimes the anons don't really seem to care (FBIAnon, for instance, got away with it scot-free). But at other times, anons pounce on the contradictions & the LARP unravels.

A great example of this is Highway Patrol Anon, who'll be the main character when we talk about how adrenochrome was introduced to the QAnon extended universe.

Obviously we'll cover him in more detail in a later thread, but here are the highlights:

The action begins when HWP Anon responds to this post. The post in question is trying to decipher an early Q drop that mentioned Justin Trudeau, and speculates that perhaps Trudeau "had some spare Native children to donate to" Hillary and pals.

At the start of the LARP spiral, HWP (who, incidentally, had spent ~8 months building this identity & made well over 1,000 posts), we can see that HWP Anon is but a humble team leader whose SHOCKING discovery could shed some light on the Cabal's Canuck connections!

Things escalated quickly: about five minutes later, the definitely real "human adrenochrome" was being kept in a "secret evidence location" and was worth $100,000,000,000.

And remember, we're only at the BEGINNING of the spiral.

A while later (by which point there had been MANY other drama-building declarations), he replied to an anon's concern that the evidence might "disappear" by deciding that this meant the Cabal would come for it guns blazing.

He dramatically replied:

Later in the same post he told the story of how one time, some dastardly Native American cops arrested him while he was on Reservation land (for what was definitely no reason at all) and he only got out when... well, read it yourself.

And somehow the drama only *escalated* from there, to the point where eventually he was saying stuff along the lines of: "sure, anons, I'll send investigators to Arizona because you want me to. And if any of them get suicided, at least I'll know we're on the right trail!" Really!

Long story short, he LARPed *so* hard, and was mocked so savagely (though you'd better believe he found a few hardcore believers, too) that he eventually had to abandon the identity he'd spent months and months and months creating -- after Adrenogate he made only 2 more posts.

What's the moral of the story?

Only this: the dance of the LARPer is dangerous, children, and is not to be lightly embarked upon.

P.S. Q, too, dances the dance of the LARPer. Heck, we've already seen a mild example: in drop 1, Hillary is going to be arrested 10/30/17, and steps are underway to stop her if she flees abroad. In drop 2, shown in part below, Hillary has *already* been "detained."
