For many, it is hard speaking at a Constituency Labour Party meeting. Why is it so intimidating? I think that centres around the feeling that if you make a mistake, or say the wrong thing it will be humiliating. Could it be different? I think it could. (4/7)
To change would mean opening up spaces for meaningful dialogue, creating opportunity for interaction; it means being patient with each other, opening spaces for those who don’t or can’t contribute and it means being accessible to include as many people as possible. (5/7)
Political debate and discussion aren’t an indulgence, they are crucial to our movement and creating a robust foundation for our politics. It is also a central plank of any democratic organisation. (6/7)
I don’t ever want people to feel stupid, belittled or not cool enough for our party. That only breeds resentment & long-term disengagement from politics. A welcoming, stimulating organisation which wins hearts & minds is perfectly possible. Let’s build it together. #GV6 (7/7)
