Our forest lungs burn away every day, methane sublimes in the tundra, oceans warm and die and we’re forced to wander in masks to protect ourselves from smoke and pathogens loosed by their planet-destroying fossil-fuel led frenzy to ‘add value’ to their own pockets. #auspol

Welfare systems which could keep people alive (which is the point of an economy) are eschewed in favour of siphoning wealth off to the already-rich. Politicians like Morrison and Coleman suckle at the public purse and avoid their responsibilities. #auspol

Technology like fibre which could connect us in an age of forced disconnection was abandoned because of egos and ambition on the part of Turnbull and Abbott. Instead of a community of producers with symmetric links we’re a pool of consumers, further enriching the rich. #auspol

Our human rights record went out the window with Tampa and Howard playing to the base xenophobia and bigotry of people like Hanson with a resulting surge in intolerance and racism. The Fair Country is dead aided by Labor’s fear of being wedged. #auspol

The police state reigns supreme with Dutton, a failed Qld thug cop, grabbing power unchallenged. All we do online is tracked. Secret trials are held. The Govt can force spyware to be installed and wants to be able to send military forces, domestic and foreign, against us. #auspol

Ministers line their pockets, buy and sell water that doesn’t exist, arrange land deals for massively overvalued millions and all the while resist the call for an integrity commission with teeth that could ‘keep the bastards honest’. doesaustralianeedafederalicac.com #auspol

Why was marriage equality so hard to win and why do so many of our LGBTQI+ brothers and sisters and siblings still get treated like second-class citizens? Why are there still politicians anti education for kids that would save lives and pro conversion which ruins them? 🏳️‍🌈 #auspol

Why is there still a massive gap in outcome and privilege and resources between the invaders and visitors to this land and the original owners and inhabitants? Why does the Press still push racist stereotypes? Why do successive govts promise so much and deliver nothing? #auspol

Who are we? Why are we letting the likes of Murdoch, Morrison, Dutton, Tudge, Tehan, Bolt, Rinehart and Porter who have a long track record of self interest and cruelty set the tone for the future?

Who do we want to be as a nation?

Because we’re better than this.
