BREAKING: A Jared Kushner-owned complex in Pittsburgh's South Hills is seeking large-scale evictions. 44 over two days. Some eviction complaints might be in violation of CDC eviction moratorium since they are allegedly only for week-late rent nonpayments. pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/jar…

This billboard is owned by the same company that put up a local billboard in 2018 calling women that accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault "paid liars" pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/nor…

Thread of Pittsburgh-area police lying or sharing disputed info, especially in initial reports that press repeat

1. Police lying that May 30 protesters that damaged property in Pittsburgh were from out of area. All protesters arrested were from PGH area pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/pro…
2. On June 1, police lie that protesters fired first at a riot-gear clad cops. Videos & accounts show police firing sponge rounds & tear gas first. Peduto backed police initially, then admitted later they lied pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/pit…

NEW: Kurt Cofano was arrested w/ 30 homemade bombs just outside of Pittsburgh. He has an apparent social history of threatening BLM protesters & supporting Trump, but initial reporting of his arrest didn't mention. Some reports didn't even mention his name pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/man…
On June 2, an account called "PghBoogey" replied to a tweet threatening a user explicitly. The PghBoogey account also then wrote "my name is Kurt Cofano." The account then shared an apparent selfie that matches a profile pic from a Kurt Cofano on Facebook pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/man…
Local police could not confirm the PghBoogey account is connected to Cofano, but nudged me to FBI. The FBI told me the “FBI does not confirm or deny the existence of any investigation.” pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/man…

When PA politicians says "we must support fracking," they don't actually mean the natural-gas drilling industry. They mean trades unions that work with fossil-fuel companies. Any industry observer will tell you fracking is struggling in the market & is likely heading to death 1/
But many trades unions have been working with fracking companies for about 10 years, supplying THEIR members jobs (20k-50k in PA), but not as many jobs as fracking-boosters advertise. Even so, trades unions have massive political power rn, so pols back fracking 2/
Trades union leadership in PA has no vision. They have forged a relationship w/ their bosses creating a preservation mode. Trades members are versatile and COULD build windmills, bridges, mass transit, really anything. But they appear solely focused on preserving fossil fuels 3/

Here is the tweet in question. And, imo, this tweet rules, and Johnson has been doing some amazing reporting recently and providing Pittsburgh with incredible community resources about Black businesses in our area.
