<thread>

I've been thinking a lot lately about naysayers. Folks who always find a reason to latch on to things that tell them "that can't happen."

This is natural humanity imo, so I'm not knockin' it, but I do wanna talk about it in the context of November 3rd.
1/
Any of y'all that read my stuff know I'm pretty bullish about this election, and Biden's chances. Hell I'm pretty bullish in general when it comes down to it. I ain't into astrology but I'm just sayin' it's odd I'm a Bull.

But I'm a thinker too. Possibly good at it.
2/
Anywho, the election.

I'm absolutely convinced Biden's got it in the bag, maybe over 400 EC votes. Maybe. Still though, imo this chicken is done. Take it out and get down with the victory meal.

But why?

I mean Russians right? Iran or whatever?
3/
Or it could be just good old fashioned GOP voter suppression/disenfranchisement. Maybe all three.

At least that's what the naysayers are sayin'. (Fun sentence. Say it a few times)

But none of that matters this year. None.

What's the ONE good thing #DonnieTwoScoops has done?
4/
He made people give a shit again. Because he's in our faces, every damn day like some annoying mosquito that you just can't smack, he's made people think, "Okay this isn't right."

FINALLY.

Because he made every single thing in our country about politics.
5/
So what's the product of that?

Seems it's roughly 154 million, or more, folks showing up to vote, who are tired of trump. Oh so tired of trump.

Because he IS that fool he seems to be. Whatcha see is whatcha get.
6/
154 million people. Not since 1908 have as high a percentage of us showed up to vote. And here's the thing about the cheating the naysayers use to say "it's not gonna happen:" that cheating is on the margins. 2%, maybe 3%.

And the GOP knows it, that's why they're terrified.
7/
Like hoping for divine intervention kinda terrified, this I know to be true.

Because when Americans show up America wins. We really ARE that country you believe in, and we're proving it the very minute I write this through early voting.
8/
154 million people isn't a two or three percent kinda thing y'all, it's a TEN percent kinda thing. Nobody cheats that vote away, ESPECIALLY b/c trump's roughly thirteen points underwater.

This thing's all but over, and seeing trump's face after this debate, he knows too.
9/
BUT.

This does not mean folks should not vote. This does not mean you shouldn't encourage everyone to know to vote, no matter where you live.

Because Biden is on track to win more votes than any candidate in US history, which might mean ever I guess.
10/
And it's precisely BECAUSE of that fact he's going to win of course. Math right? So yeah, get you and your people's asses out there and VOTE. Like we've never voted before.

Literally.

And if you already have, pester your friends to do it. Your family.
11/
There a difference between letting go of anxiety and being complacent. But it's okay to let your fears go, be happy in this victory you will have earned.

BREATHE.

Because if you don't, you're missin' all the fun.

Addendum:

I had to look, these things matter to me. 154 million voters isn't even close to the most votes for a candidate. About 341 million folks voted for Narendra Modi last year in India.

This right here is offensive as HELL to me. And I'm gonna tell you why.
1/
To say that the manifestation of trump and the current GOP is every Americans fault is HORRIBLY out of touch.

Not only am I personally offended by it, b/c I've been screaming from the rooftops for 30 years about our broken system and it's ramifications...
2/
...but I'm offended for every single american who's had their voting rights taken away, or who's been beaten down by a system that worships money and power in which they have none.

Is it logical to tell the black community, who have been systematically devastated...

I have a source that Pence tested positive for #COVID19, hence the fly back to DC.

Expect it to break soon if true.
Plus, ponder this simple fact: there's only TWO reasons Pence would leave the campaign trail right now.

1. Trump has taken a huge turn for the worse.

Or

2. He's got #COVID19.

But we'll see. I did say if true.
I tweet other stuff too y'all, from the heart. And frankly I love taking on the powerful:

<A Quick Thread>
What we have to realize is the @GOP has come to place where they consider rules and laws are things that apply to OTHER people.

I'd like to extrapolate on that for a minute.
#PartyOfCorruption
1/
And this is no recent development. Think of how Nixon paid no legal price for his law breaking.

Literally hundreds of @GOP Members of Congress have openly flouted laws for generations and ended up with BETTER jobs in the private sector.
2/
The @GOP breaks campaign finance laws before our very eyes.

They steer government money to their coffers.

They sell their influence openly.

And every single time the lesson learned is not only thet they get away with it, their lives are IMPROVED by it.

Remember when House Republicans fell all over themselves laughing b/c they'd finally repealed the ACA?
Yeah that was awesome. Image
Then they had beers and laughs about it later with donnie in the Rose Garden.
Hilarious how people are gonna die ain't it? Image
That was also the day donnie said, "But hey, I'm president right?" Image

<A Thread on Our Current State of Affairs>

We used to one community everywhere. All of us. I actually hoped we'd spread that to the world.

But the poltical parties' unending quest to take and keep power, especially the GOP, have destroyed our sense of community.
1/
Where are all the mini democracies we used to depend on daily? Our PTAs, our unions, our (yes) community organizations, our heavily attended town hall meetings?

We no longer listen to each other and instead scream at each other from afar, then wonder how we got here.
2/
For millennia the only thing that has enabled the tasty pink packages that our bodies truly are to survive has been numbers against predators and bad humans. We're inherently social beings for a reason...
