Lots of people talking & being quoted re the separation, caging & othr abuses of Central American migrants,following th #Debate2020. 0 of those quoted are Central American. I just wrote a book based on decades of experience w these & other matters, but nobody's asking. Here's why

The first and most important reason is because the Democrats and their allies in media knew that actually existing Central Americans would have to share a difficult truth: the caging & separation of 1000s of Central American kids like the 1 in this pic began w Obama & Jeh Johnson

Some volunteers & I documented then media's willingness to utterly erase C Americans fr our own stories for the @CJR. We studied 100s of stories re Trump child separation in 2018 & found 0 Cen American sources/experts.Who replaced us? Obama Adm officials.bit.ly/2txiiy9

The Democrats & their media allies know that C Americans being inconvenient truths.Their concern was so great that they even created astroturf groups like #FamiliesBelongTogether, which was founded by former Obama Admin staff, Obama. & Clinton campaign staff or ppl close to them.

@fams2gether & some of th operatives that founded it join Obama offcls as some of th most oft-quoted sources n stories re Trump's C American child separation. It's almost like Dem operatives call their editor friends to say C Americans can't speak to C American child separation.

I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that reporting that Obama caged and separated 1000s of kids, many of whom were never reunited w their parents, would devastate Obama, Biden & Dems image. The liberal imagination can't sustain these difficult truths.

Editors, political operatives, reporters and many others prefer to protect Obama & the Dems then admit that the very hideous practices they self righteously condemn Trump for began with Obama & Jeh Johnson. This is what I call political enabling of catastrophic policies.
