What can you double that might generate triple the results?

Asking yourself that question is the key to unlocking exponential growth of your audience, business, or productivity.

Here are a few ways to find an answer to that question...👇
How To Triple The Value You Get From Blogging

• If you double the number of blog posts you publish next month, does it triple your traffic?

• If you double the number of times you plug your email list within blog posts, does it triple the number of new subscribers you get?
How To Triple The Value You Get From Social Media

• If you double the number of times you post, does it triple your reach or engagement?

• If you double the number of replies you leave on other people’s posts, does it triple your follower growth?
How To Triple Your Sales

• If you double the number of outreach emails or calls you made, does it triple the number of conversions you get?

• If you double the length of your product’s free trial period, does it triple the number of paid customers you convert?
Obviously, these are all experiments and there's no way to know if doubling them will triple your results unless you try them.

But that's the point.

Pick a thing to double. Measure the results. Find the ones that triple.

1.

Your career depends on your ability to build a system.

Otherwise, you're just doing random acts of creation and promotion, which leads to…

Not much of anything.

So, let's talk about the 3-element system every creator needs to develop for themselves...
2.

You Need A Discovery Mechanism

This is how new people find out you and your creations exist.

Typically, it consists of the creations, content and social media posts you put into the world.
3.

You Need A Connection Mechanism

This is how you take someone who discovers your creations and turn them into an actual fan you can reach with your future creations.

Turning that person into an email subscriber is typically the most valuable connection you can have.

1. Most people trying to sell a paid newsletter as an offshoot of their free newsletter struggle in part because they're approaching it the wrong way.

Let me explain...
2. What most creators do in this situation is their paid newsletter is basically the same as their free newsletter but includes additional issues or bonus content in some way that's not available in the free newsletter.

They sell "more."

But...
3. Almost nobody wants "more" - even of a newsletter they love!

Most people don't want extra emails in their inbox or extra "content."

And they especially don't want to pay to get more similar stuff that requires their attention.

Over on @IndieHackers, someone asked me what I mean when I say a key to growing my Twitter following has been to take a more focused approach.

Here's what I mean by that and what I've done in the past few months to achieve the results listed below...

THREAD 👇
1. I schedule 5 tweets a day to be posted every day.

Most are excerpts of blog posts I've written or previous social posts I know people found helpful/useful so I kinda know they're going to "work."

It's like my greatest hits mixed in with some original new ideas.
2. On top of the scheduled tweets, I dip in a couple times a day and post other stuff (if I have something to say).

I've got 72,000 followers across various platforms.

There are four things I did to make that happen.

THREAD 👇
1. I published a blog post every week for four years.

• They're all designed to provide value to my target audience (creators).

• Each one goes on my website, @Medium, and is repurposed on social.

• Most are timeless so they attract new people forever.
2. I published a newsletter every week for four years.

• It features my weekly blog post as well as curated ideas from others.

• It's how I turn casual readers into connected fans.

• The curated content provides a ton of audience growth value (see image).
