What happened is that you hired a far right activist—a self identified former "Ann Coulter fangirl"—masquerading as a reporter, and then published the propaganda she knowingly churned out.
Readers deserve to know how, out of the 10.6 million people living in Georgia, Elaine ended up interviewing both a Republican operative (& son of a Trump appointed ambassador) AND someone closely tied to GA state GOP—all without knowing who they were.
As @ParkerMolloy & @MattGertz point out, however, Elaina Plott isn't the only issue in the NYT's political reporting chain-of-command. Patrick Healy (her boss/the guy defending her) also has a history of biased, sexist, & bizarre political "reporting" 👇
You cant be both an "excellent journalist" AND so shitty at your job that you don't even do basic fact checking of interviewees.

She intentionally mislead readers. THOUSANDS of reporters are looking for work right now—one of them should have Elaina's job.

TW: Rape, police retaliation

In June, Norman, OK cut the police dept. budget by $865,000.

In retaliation, an NPD officer doxxed a female city council member, to "teach her a lesson".

On Saturday, her duplex was broken in to & her neighbor—mistaken as her—was brutally raped.
Norman PD have acknowledged that an officer doxxed the city council member. But they say her address is "public information" & are refusing to even discipline the officer, much less fire him.

They also claim that the rape victim suffered "minor injuries".
After breaking into her duplex, the rapist dug his elbow into the her neck, pushed her into the wall, & said, "Maybe next time you'll learn your lesson."

Again, this is after a NORMAN POLICE OFFICER posted her home address publicly in the context of "teaching her a lesson."

Despite Donald Trump's frequent invocation of "The Troops" when defending the bigoted things he says & does, he has disregarded military members' safety & well-being time & time again.

1/ In May, Trump tried to end National Guard deployments 1 day before the deployed service members would have received the federal benefits they had earned.

2/ Despite severe PPE shortages at VA hospitals, in April the Trump admin seized 5 million masks ordered by the VA.

After pleas from VA Officials to return the masks, the White House sent them 500,000—10% of what they had ordered.

He also warns they'll all have to "tighten their belts" soon. His net worth is $6.4 billion—hourly employees don't get paid sick leave. #COVIDIOT
I worked for Hobby Lobby for 2 years and genuinely cannot adequately convey how awful these people are. Truly the most selfish, hateful faux-Christians I've ever had the displeasure of working for.

Since people like Matt Colvin are the kind of monsters that profit off of other people's misery, I've decided to show Twitter how I* make my own reusable Clorox wipes. (THREAD)

*An immunocompromised woman w/ a lifetime of experience in avoiding other people's germs #coronavirus
1/ These wipes are super easy to make, way less expensive than Clorox wipes (even before price gouging), and are better for the environment! #coronavirus

You need:
-Rubbing alcohol
-Water
-Baking soda
-Dish soap (preferably the regular/non-ultra kind)
-Some kind of washcloths
2/ For the cloths, I use flour sack towels that I cut up into pieces, because A. they are hella cheap & I can cut them into 16 smaller cloths & B. because they're white, I can just throw them into a meshbag as I use them and then bleach the hell out of them when doing laundry
