Russians Hacked Burisma at Center of Impeachment

It appears the Russians searched for potentially embarrassing material on the Bidens — the same kind of information that Trump wanted from Ukraine when he pressed for an inv’n of the Bidens and Burisma. nytimes.com/2020/01/13/us/…
The Russian tactics are strikingly similar to what American intelligence agencies say was Russia’s hacking of emails from Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman and the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 presidential campaign.

nytimes.com/2020/01/13/us/…
Then, as now, the Russian hackers from a military intelligence unit known formerly as the G.R.U., and to private researchers by the alias “Fancy Bear,” used so-called phishing emails that appear designed to steal usernames and passwords. nytimes.com/2020/01/13/us/…

18 Revelations From a Trove of Trump Tax Records

Times reporters have obtained decades of tax information the president has hidden from public view. Here are some of the key findings. nytimes.com/2020/09/27/us/…
📌Trump paid no federal income taxes in 11 of 18 years. In 2017, after he became president, his tax bill was only $750.

📌He has reduced his tax bill with questionable measures, including a $72.9 million tax refund that is the subject of an audit by the Internal Revenue Service.
Many of his signature biz’s, including his golf courses, report losing large amounts of money — losses that have helped him to lower his taxes.

The financial pressure on him is increasing as hundreds of millions of dollars in loans he personally guaranteed are soon coming due.

“Hey, don’t close RAZOR (#Flynn).”

The partly redacted messages don’t indicate why the reversal occurred — it came just 20 minutes after the doc to close the case had been circulating and less than a week after Flynn spoke by phone to RU Amb Kislyak. politico.com/news/2020/04/3…
Transcripts of calls between Flynn, Russian diplomat (Kislyak) show that the two did discuss sanctions as the incoming administration sought to avoid escalating the conflict over Russian interference in the presidential election. washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
RW media is attempting to characterize the FBI inv’n into Flynn as an op to “get Flynn.” It’s true the FBI was about to close the case when intercepts of Flynn’s convos with Kislyak dropped asking RU not to retaliate about the sanctions the Obama adm imposed re elex interference.

Parnas persuaded an array of investors to pump more than $2 million into Fraud Guarantee, which was intended to offer an insurance-like product to protect consumers—but it never got off the ground.

Parnas & his partner David Correia, were charged with wire fraud conspiracy.
Parnas and Correia had paid Mr. Giuliani $500,000 to endorse and advise the company

Mr. Parnas and Mr. Giuliani played a central role in a dirt-digging campaign aimed at Mr. Trump’s political rivals that led to the president’s impeachment last year.

They also tried to dig up damaging information on Marie L. Yovanovitch, then the American ambassador to Ukraine. Mr. Trump eventually removed Ms. Yovanovitch from her post last year, a decision that was at the heart of his impeachment trial.
