Badly planned & rushed #LTNs cause gridlock, idling vehicles & expose greater numbers of pedestrians to toxic vehicle emissions
Exposes the systemic #Social & #EnvironmentalInjustice caused by #AirPollution
In new developments social homes & schools r always built on the least valuable part Private buyers get the sunshine & clean air
It is systemic because with congestion & #ULEZ charges, #LTNs etc, like housing developments, the rich can afford to pay.
Some may say it's another form of class war this, time being waged under the banner of 'municipal socialism'.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions
It's working drivers - deliveries, trades, cabs, public services etc - who have to drive further for longer bcs of #LTNs & main road congestion. Time is money. Not even elderly residents or lifesavers like carers, @CCNTHackney & @Hatzola are exempt
