Germany, 2020: Brothel owner runs for mayor of major city Stuttgart and labels prostitution and trafficking survivor (exploited in legal brothels like his) who is alarmed by his candidacy "the real victimizer of women!". We are so far beyond parody. Its throw things o'clock.
It's just classic abuser style: Inverse victim and perpetrator. Pimps are allies to women and survivors advocating for and often single handedly running exit services are a scourge!!! Of course a bunch of other pimps came to his aid and are slandering her all over the place.
Worst as ever are random women supporting him not her. Lecturing a survivor that prostitution is actually really fine and that legal brothels are totally safe (the exact places she was groomed and raped for years). We are making progress but there is still so much victim blaming.

I have to mention one more thing though: This "defender of womens rights" actually takes 130€ per day from women in the rooms in his brothel. Prices for a "quick shag" start at 30€. 80€ for half an hour. Then 130€ for a full hour. She has 1-4 johns before she makes any money.
He himself admits women in brothels are competing with women elsewhere. 50-60€ for half an hour is more common in brothels in my observation. On the street you can get to penetrate a woman for as little as 10 bucks. This pressures other women to lower their prices to compete.
People who defend German prostitution law have no idea what they're dealing with. I didn't even get into the subject of organized crime which is knee deep in all of it, but just the market forces themselves put women through so much and make them vulnerable to additional abuse.
To those who think a brothel owner's candidacy is hopeless: 2018 Dennis Hof, owner of the infamous "Bunny Ranches" in Nevada, won a seat at the state assembly. The only reason he couldn't take it was because he suddenly died. nytimes.com/2018/11/07/us/…
