1) The time has come for those that have promised, to finally deliver. Not a single politician has opposed my request for enhanced access to The @HSELive Terminal Illness Medical Card for those of us that are dying.
Please, read on..... #medicalcardscandal
3) This is An Taoiseach, @MichealMartinTD from February 4th last, complaining about the difficulties surrounding medical card access for the terminally ill. #medicalcardscandal
4) Here we have former Minister for Health, @SimonHarrisTD on December 12th last, stating quite categorically there will be an expansion of access to medical cards for the terminally ill. #medicalcardscandal
5) Minister @DonnellyStephen I might be well at present, but I am dying. The strength, time & effort that I'm ploughing into this campaign should be spent elsewhere, as well you know. However, until the promised reform is implemented, you're stuck with me. #medicalcardscandal
6) As Minister @DonnellyStephen & I prepare for our next meeting, which I sincerely hope will finally lead to reform, I would ask all of you that read this to please retweet. Public pressure has gotten us this far & will I hope, see this through. #medicalcardscandal
Promises have been made with little or nothing delivered upon.
I now say to @FineGael@fiannafailparty & @greenparty_ie, it's time.
No more excuses or reports, rather change that will help those of us living our final chapter, to do so that little bit easier. #medicalcardscandal
This evening my good friend @PhelanVicky started a thread about #ReasonsToBeGrateful that remind us what we already have, despite living in an era where so much seems to be taken away.
Here's mine (1)
I have the gift of life. Nearly 3 years ago I was told I had terminal #Cancer & apart from chemotherapy, nothing more could be done. Get my affairs in order they said (2)
One man, my urologist thought different & sent me to Belgium for radical surgery that in conjunction with radiotherapy has not only extended, but given me a quality of life I could only have dreamt of a few short years ago. (3)
