If you want to speak freely here, and elsewhere, I suspect it may be important that you block people who come here to do nothing but attack. That's what I've been doing, and while I'm still throttled, I do reach my peeps and am not depressed by pushback by the trolls and bots.
That's because I just block them. I think a fair number of them really are just literal bots. They're not here to change your mind. They're here to battle.
There are more or less rational people who present you with arguments. That's OK as long as it stays polite and respectful.

Occasionally a jerk with many followers shares something of mine and their low-info followers descend. I just take the time to block them, making it clear that I'm doing so and why. Problem solved.

You might say, "Oh, but doesn't this mean I'm encasing myself in an echo chamber?" Not necessarily. There are still *polite* liberals who follow me, and I still occasionally engage with them (or not). And that's totally OK. And you *can* engage the other side if you want.
