The indwelling Sapta Mātr̥ukās in us (#Thread)

Vēdās, Āgamās & Purāṇās envisioned the great energy orchestrating this entire universe as the ‘Mother of the Universe’, unfolded the different forms of the same from different viewpoints & stipulated methods of worship accordingly.
Dēvī Māhatmyam narrated that at the time Divine Mother was vanquishing the demons Śumbha, Niśumbha &
others, the power of Brahma & other Gods also emanated out & took diff forms to kill the demons.

The energy of Brahma is Brāhmi;
Viṣṇu is Vaiṣṇavi;
Mahēśwara is Mahēśwari;
Skanda is Kaumāri
Yajña Vārāhaswāmi is Vārāhi
Indra is Aindri

The energy of Time that emanated from the center of
Divine Mother’s eyebrows that is ‘Kāli’ - Cāmunḍā;

Abov r called Sapta Mātr̥ukās. All these are 7 diff
types of super energies that conduct this entire universe.
During one’s spiritual progress, the above 7 are the Śiva-Śakti that awaken within oneself. In fact, they are the diff manifestations of the same supreme power.

Brāhmi
Vaiṣṇavi
Mahēśwari
Kaumāri
Vārāhi
Aindri
Cāmunḍā
1. Brāhmi - The unmanifested sound energy of the tones that are filled within the infinite cosmos & the heart
sky (Dahara Akasha) present within is ‘Brāhmi’. With the aid of throat and others, this tone itself is expressed as notes and letters in the form of sounds.
2. Vaiṣṇavi - The spectacular energy pervading the universe in the form of effulgent waves making everything
radiant is ‘Vaiṣṇavi’. She is the power of sustenance.
3. Mahēśwari – The consciousness that expresses as the awareness of ‘I’ within every heart is Mahēśwari. The
same is expressed in Śrīmad Bhagavadgīta Chapter 18, Ślōka 61 - ‘It is Īśwara who is moving all the basis such as
body etc. in the hearts of all’.
4. Kaumāri – Kaumāri is the energy of knowledge that effulges the ultimate truth in the pure mind attained by
spiritual practice.
5. Vārāhi – This energy of Yajña Vārāha grants all the foods. Her weapons in hands – plough and pestle – connote the harvest and transformation during food preparation. She is the power that provides Havya for gods and appropriate Food for humans and all other creatures.
6. Aindri - The energy of valor that is required for the protection of the world and destruction of the wicked. Her
weapon thunderbolt connotes the power.
7. Cāmunḍā – Per the story, Cāmunḍā drank every drop of blood falling from the body of the demon Raktabīja
which has been producing many demons like him. Then, that demon got transformed.

Inherent meaning - Raktabīja denotes the attachment to the worldly pleasures. (continued)
Desires & related thoughts arising out of that attachment are the drops of blood. Those demons rising again out of the drops indicate diff kind of troubls & ignorance related torments. She's the divine consciousness present in the supreme Samādhi state wich destroys evil troubls.
The nature of Parabrahman is ‘One’. Multiplicity is the form of universe.

All the armies (Camū) denote multiplicity. Reaching the state of ‘Oneness’ from this many is Samādhi. This is
indicated by ‘Cāmunḍā’.
Another story narrates that Mother is called ‘Cāmunḍā’, because She killed Cānḍā and Munḍā. In terms of Yōga,
breaking the granthi from Mūlādhāra is the killing of Cānḍāsura. Breaking that occurs at the time of entering
Sahasrāra Kamala is killing of Munḍāsura.
A holistic observation makes it clear that all these different forms unfolded in Purāṇās are different energies that orchestrate this entire universe and different divine energies that awaken within us due to austere practice of Yōga.
This kind of Yōgic and philosophical vision has been contemplated by Kāvyakantha Gaṇapati Muni in Umā
Sahasram.

Prostrations to the ‘Mother of the Universe’, who is the amalgamated embodiment of all these energies!
