I just wanted to let you know that I for one appreciate the new look and leadership at The Herald.
Especially in your well-balanced and fair editorials.

I find the new changes a welcome breath of fresh air and plan to renew my subscription after a three-year hiatus. Keep up the good work and thanks again."

* these people have done incredible harm to the Monterey County community.
emboldened by a lawless Sheriff who got the boot in 2010.
This scumbag, Mike Kanalakis was a favorite of the Cannery Row boys, even though he sued one of them for a slip and fall at one the 'cooks of Cannery Row's homes.
ANY department that would hire back and promote a deputy FIRED and charged with TWO FELONIES by the MoCo DA (who later, quietly dropped the charges) cannot be trusted until a federal report comes out, informing us.
the daughter of a major donor (and funder of the Kanalakis Sheriff’s Aero Squadron) Don Ratcliff.

to great lengths to conceal the true runners of the @CA_FPPC investigated entity.
5) John Phillips and Chris Marohn hired organizers known to work minority communities in Salinas and other target neighborhoods to scare voters into voting for @SheriffBernal
Important to note @DaytonPubPolicy that several @SalinasPD coppers are against the renaming. (They know what is being discussed re/@FBI and a corruption probe)
Commander John Murray and Commander Bryan Cupak came out against it - as did a senior citizen relative of Murray.

But who does the @CityofSalinas have commenting for the renaming?
A county supervisor who is at the center of a FBI corruption probe, along with his colleague Judge John Phillips - @SupervisorAlejo:
* Alejo hates cops, undermines the rule of law at every turn.
What was Judge John Phillips’ involvement in this?
What was then DA Investigator turned Private Eye, turned John Phillips’ political sign installer’s roll in this?
Why did they let Balestreri & Cutino trash local law enforcement? like, @SalinasPD, like the @MCoSheriff ?

Trump is a symptom. Our local elected officials in most portions of America are corrupt, or in the process of being corrupted.
In Monterey County corruption goes back decades - it is unacceptable and will be dealt with.
John Phillips is at the center of all of this, here:

Is it any wonder to our local media that @SalinasPD’s @AdeleFrese is incapable of dealing with inappropriate relationships between her officers and Dr. Rolando Cabrera?
The Cabrera’s are protected by Judge John.
Larry Biegel has been protected by Judge John. (@FBI)

They endorsed Kimbley Craig. A public official doxxer, who received $10,001 dollars from Salinas Police and $30,000+ from retired (and under investigation)
former Mayor Joe Gunter. Joe Gunter is a retired @SalinasPD detective who wrote a glowing letter of support for Dave Drew, a multiple-time convicted Narco Trafficker, recently pardoned by @JerryBrownGov, yet suspected of maintaining relationships with his Narco partners - by

some ethical Monterey County law enforcement.
Kimbley Craig has the backing of a number of @realDonaldTrump donors in #MontereyCounty who have donated thousands to his platform.
