Surely it's time for @UKStatsAuth to get involved here?

Whatever you think of lockdown, the lack of transparency and dubious presentation of official analysis and the data driving policy has been a disgrace, & not just from Government but @CMO_England and @uksciencechief...
...Where are the labels for the deaths projections chart above?

....Where can people look at the underlying data?

And then there's the (apparent) selective choice of data in that chart (as pointed out by @danielhowdon)...

...cebm.net/covid-19/the-i…...
...What actually *was* the Reasonable Worst Case Scenario the Government says we are now surpassing? (as @d_spiegel has asked)

...Then we had the competing claims over hospital bed occupancy in the North West - where was the data?

The list of obfuscation goes on and on....
...Here's the how the independent @UKStatsAuth describes its mission...

....Isn't it @UKStatsAuth 's responsibility to say something about all this?

If not I'd very much like to hear the reason.
Pro-lockdown people should be just as concerned about this as anti-lockdown people because the lack of transparency and perception of data cherry picking is damaging public confidence in the scientific work that underpins the policy they support

Wording of this Sun piece suggests Treasury briefed out the Bank's £150bn QE decision the day before - not a good look for the Bank's independence
Bear in mind that a Treasury representative sits in on the Bank's Monetary Policy Committee meetings - so they certainly know what decisions are coming
Asked about the Sun story at the press conference Governor Andrew Bailey says: "We will look into it"

This is very true from Declan - "Beveridge" has become a shorthand for progressive reform in contemporary debate - it's important to look at what he actually proposed in that report and why - and what wasn't actually implemented...
Crucially in the post-war UK system the rate of National Insurance jobless benefit was never set high enough to prevent poverty (despite what Beveridge wanted) which meant that the separate means tested system often kicked in and never withered away (as Beveridge expected)....
