Even when left with no option but to condemn the actions of Maharashtra government against #Arnab people can't fail to bring false equivalence. When did BJP go about hounding a journalist like what's happening with Arnab?

Most 'journalist' like this one are speaking up only because the MH government has been absolutely brazen in their witch-hunt. Even these worthies can't spin it or ignore it, or they will be called out. So, we've all these qualifiers preceding the 'support'.

This is a simple reminder to every budding, or even seasoned journalist, to ensure that you pick-up a side which is there to back you up. Even if you end-up in situations like #Radiagate.

This 'journalist' is Crime Bureau Head with @abpnewshindi @sansaniABP. He's gloating over #arnabarrested. And the tweet has been retweeted by another journalist.

The qualifiers, they never stop. Never mind that if BJP was half as vindictive as current MH government, leftist news platforms like Scroll and Wire would've shut down long ago.

And some have completely lost the context and sense of proportion here.

- Funny thing is, most RW supporters consider BJP to be too soft on those who peddle agenda against it in the name of journalism.
- All this '==' by Pandita ji here is nothing but ensuring that they cover all bases. That's how intellectual operate.

- Some have even done away with the pretense of questioning the #ArnabGoswamiArrested
- BTW, when the same 'Karma' comes and bites you, I hope she won't cry about unfairness of the world. And tyranny of powers-that-be.

If this is what condemnation is supposed to read from an apex journalism body, well, then why even bother?

Journalism Lesson 101 - Whatever be the occasion, never miss an opportunity to peddle your agenda. And bias.

BUT....there's always a BUT. Never mind, there's also a genuine fear, now, that if they aren't SEEN speaking against #ArnabGoswami arrest, the same template can be applied to them. And then, there won't be anyone speaking up for them.

Center can't do zilch, at least openly. Arnab will get bail and will have to fight it out himself. I feel sorry for the family of the deceased whose complaint has been revived to go after #ArnabGoswami...someone has led them up the garden path that they'll get justice.

So, as per this genius, defending FOE, and that too, in case of a journalist, depends on whether he/she ticks all the points on a check-list. Good template to follow for others as well.

Never mind that no-one had planned to throw anyone out in the first place. A deliberate & mischievous attempt was made to link CAA with NRC. Not a day goes by when we don't hear about atrocities committed on religious minorities in Pakistan or Bangladesh.
