Donald Trump put a major donor in charge of the postal service to disrupt the mail and now wants the Supreme Court to ban states from counting mailed-in ballots, wants the court to ignore actual voters. #AllVotersMatter

Trump ran daily ads telling black men Joe Biden hated them because he supported "super-predator" laws decades ago. But the Dems didn't run ads about him taking out a front-page ad & doing TV shows seeking execution of innocent black boys in the Central Park Jogger case.

And Trump is responsible for overseeing the highest number of #Covid19 cases in a single week that most states have seen all pandemic. But he has convinced supporters it is not real because it only kills weak and Black people. So he'll keep ignoring it until millions die.

The great shame is: Had he not cheated, had the GOP not suppressed votes, Trump probably still would be doing as well as he is because, sadly, many Americans refuse to believe the level of hate that exists in this country because they only saw it just this year.

And the Democratic Party didn't take seriously how big a threat Trump was because, like 4 years ago, they thought every American saw what most Americans do: an inept, hateful man who craves attention and power - and the white folks who will do anything to share that power.

Four years ago, I was working in an American newsroom & told editors Donald Trump was going to be elected. I'd told them for weeks, but they only began to listen at about 9 p.m. that night.

Last night, I skipped election coverage for the first time ever, watched @HGTV.

It's not that I thought Trump would win. I just didn't want to watch how close it would be. Now we must prep for Trump to close the loop on the GOP strategy: Disenfranchise some voters by not counting their ballots & packing the Supreme Court to try to steal the election.

And like a poorly written script, we watched this movie knowing what was coming next & still seemed surprised. Trump stood in the once-revered White House and declared victory while votes were being counted, before he had reached the required number delegates like last time.

So that is the long answer to the question put to me in the middle of the night via text from a friend "What is Michigan doing?" Same thing it and other states were doing four years ago: Counting every vote, because #EveryVoteMatters

And someone, anyone who isn't afraid to, needs to explain to Donald Trump that Hillary Clinton finally conceded in 2016 because he had the requisite number of delegates, even though he'd wind up not having the most votes.

He does not have those delegates yet.

But here's the bigger issue: That we even allowed this man to run rather than be removed from office is a travesty.

That he has done irreparable damage to America is a damn shame.
