Earlier today, the Executive Secretary NCDMB, Engr. @wabote_simbi represented by the General Manager, Research, Statistics & Development NCDMB, Mr. Abdulmalik Halilu flagged off the NCDMB GSM Repairs Training program for 500 youths in Bauchi State via Zoom webinar.
In his opening speech, the ES NCDMB, Engr. @wabote_simbi ably represented by the GM RSD, Mr. Abdulmalik Halilu, disclosed that this GSM repairs training of 500 youths in Bauchi State is under NCDMB’s empowerment training programme for the North East.
He highlighted that the Board’s mandate requires the development of local talents, facilities and assets that supports oil and gas operations and it’s linkage sectors including the ICT sector.
He further said “The Board designed the youth empowerment program as an intervention program to provide life long support to Nigerian youths that desired to be empowered in high impact economic sectors such as ICT, Agriculture, Construction and other sectors of the economy”.
Engr. @wabote_simbi encouraged the youths and people of Bauchi State to maximize the benefits that comes from this training and ultimately become entrepreneurs, employers of labor and create wealth for the economy and also contribute to the GDP of the economy.
Speaking further on the program, Engr. @wabote_simbi said “Inline with our end to end process, NCDMB designed the training program to provide opportunities for the youths based on our unique delivery model which entails a classroom training (software & hardware models...,
...entrepreneurship development), provision of starter packs, renting of shops, market linkages, mentorship and provision of stipends throughout the training program”.
All these packages are made available believing that at the end to the process you would’ve been fully established in your shops, create employment and contribute to wealth creation, he said.
Engr. @wabote_simbi said the Board working with @NITDANigeria to ensure that beyond what we are doing in Bauchi State, the Board will also going to empower youths on how to develop softwares.

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) selects participants for training through the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualification System (NOGICJQS) portal.
The portal is open for all Nigerians to register and be trained in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry. Whenever there is an available training in the oil and gas industry, participants are and will only be selected from this portal.
Selections are done randomly and based on the availability of training. For example, when there is an available training in the marine sector, only those who have the necessary Pre-qualifications in marine related courses will be selected for the training.
Thirty graduates have commenced post graduate diploma programme on marine survey under the sponsorship of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
