- The 12 Adityas & their associates.

The 12 Adityas are the different form of Surya Dev in different Puranas their names are given differently.

In each month of the year, it is a different Aditya who shines.
As Indra, Surya Dev destroy the enemy of the devtas.
As "Dhata" he creates living beings.
As "Prajanya" he shower down rain.
As "Tvastha" he lives in the tree & herbs.
As " Pusha" he makes foodgrains grow.
As "Aryama" he is in the wind.
As "Bhaga" he is in the body of all living beings.
As "Vivasvana" he is in the fire & helps to cook food.
As "Vishnu" he destroy the enemies of the Devtas.
As "Amshumana" he is again in the wind.
As "Varuna" he is in water.
And as "Mitra" he is in the moon & in the oceans.
The chariot of Surya Dev is pulled by 7 horses, hence he is also known as "Saptashva".

Day 9 - "Siddhidatri Maa".

Siddhi means ability to achieve a sense of unlimited source of creation & existence and Dhatri means giver.

She is also known as "Ardhanarishwar" & she is the Moola roopa of Maa Parvati.

She possesses eight "Siddhis" called Anima, Mahima, Garima,
Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva & Vashitva.

Anima - reducing one’s body to the size of an atom;

Mahima - expanding one’s body to an infinitely large size;

Garima - becoming infinitely heavy;

Laghima - becoming weightless;

Prapti - having omnipresence;
Prakambya - achieving whatever one desire;

Ishitva - possessing absolute deityship;

Vashitva - having the power to subjugate all.

At the beginning of the universe Bhagwan Shivji worshipped the unmanifest form of Maa, Adiparashkti for creation.

Day 7 - Maa "Kaalratri".

Kaal refers to time as well as death  Ratri refers to night or darkness.

Hence, Ma Kaalratri is the one which brings the death of darkness or the one who ends ignorance. She is also known as Kali Ma.

And defeated Indra dev and his army after losing the Swarglok Indra and other devtas move towards himalaya to seek help.

They prayed to Parvati Maa to sought thier problem and get there Swarglok back.

Later Parvati Ma created Chandi and send her to kill the Asur, In the Image
Battle Shumbha & Nishumbha send Chanda & Munda.

Chandi created another Devi (Kali Maa) to fight against them Kali Maa killed both of them and thus came to be known as "Chamunda".

Another Asur, Rakhtbeej was sent to kill Ma Kali Rakht(blood) beej(seed) he was also had Vardan of Image

Day 6 - Maa Katyayani.

She is one of the most worshipped Swaroop of Durga Ma and consideres as destroyer of Evils.

Meanwhile, Mahisasura was creating lots of trouble to the Devtas his oppression was increasing day by day then all the Deva approach Vishnu ji to sought a way to
End the Mahisasura.

Later Vishnu ji behest Shivji & Brahma ji joint him and then Trinity (Brahma + Vishnu + Mahesh) emitted the flames which took form of Katyayani.

She took birth as the daughter of the Katayayan as she known as Katyayani Ma.

She was created to end the
Sins committed by the Asurs and was born as a fighter.

Day 5th - SkandaMaata Devi..

On this day Durga Ma is worshipped in the swaroop of Skandamata she is the mother of Skanda (Kartikeyan) brother of Ganeshji.

Devi Maa represents maternal bhava holding karthik on her lap & yet ready for battle with the Asurs seated on the Lion to
Protect her child and bhakts.

Kartikeyan & Parvati Ma took birth to defeat the Asur called Tarakasura, who had a Vardan (boon) from Brahmaji that he can only be defeated by a young child who could be son of Shivji at that time a confirmed ascetic.

Thus the union of the two
Divine energies (Shiva + Shakti) resulted in the birth of the divine child, who was highly super charged who cannot be borne by other divine entity like Agni or Ganga River.

Kartikeyan was seven yrs old as a commander in chief he totally destroyed the Tarakasura in the battle.

Day 4 - "Maa Kushmanda".

Kushmanda refers to 3 distinct words" Ku" which means little, "Ushma" which means energy, "Anda" which means egg.

By combining 3 words the name derived the one who is the creator of "little cosmic egg". This is also a happy avtar of Maa Kushmanda. It
is said that when the universe was non existent and there was darkness everywhere, Maa produced this “little cosmic egg” with her smile.
After creating the Universe, Ma  created the first beings. These were three supreme Devi with her left eye, she created a
Very angry & terrorising form and named her "Mahakali". From her center eye she created another ferocious form and named her "Mahalakshmi". From her right eye, came an extremely benevolent form, which she named "Mahasaraswati".

Day 3 - Maa Chandraghanta..!

Maa carries a crescent shaped bell crown on her head and thus she is known as "Chandraghanta".
